The golf course at Deer Run Country Club, which was redesigned by Ron Garl in 2003, utilizes its natural terrain of sparkling lakes and towering trees to create a picturesque and challenging layout. The golf course is also known for the immaculate conditions of its greens and fairways, which provide excellent putting surfaces. Deer Run Country Club features strategically placed sand traps, numerous doglegs, and water comes into play on several holes. The golf course, while challenging, is appealing to casual golfers and beginners for the beautiful setting and enjoyable, relaxing game. Deer Run Country Club is a local favorite both for the interesting layout and affordable rates.

I like this course
I play here several times a year and generally like it. Currently several of the greens are under repair but not a big problem. Wide fairways and nice doglegs...big greens and plenty of water though not much to hit over. This is a good course for the price and centrally located.
Perfect weather
Great afternoon of Golf, perfect weather, good course. The friendliest staff ever!
Thanks for the great feedback and 4-stars! On behalf of us at The Country Club at Deer Run, we truly appreciate your support and comments on our staff. Come back soon and check out your review shared on our Facebook page! #DeerRunCC
Worst conditions I have ever seen
I do not plan to play here again, the conditions were terrible. Tee boxes are just weed patches. The greens are mostly just dirt looks like they have not been watered in weeks.
It’s the worst condition course I have ever played and I have played all over. If you play you will be disappointed I am sure. Back 9 used to always be very green and lush not it is even in very very poor condition.

Will be sad to see this course go
This is one of my overall favorites. It’s convenient, fairly priced, and in okay shape. I like the layout and play here often. There are rumors they are closing this course.

Course not worth the drive
Was looking for something reasonably priced and with a decent review.
Obviously the last reviewers had low expectations.
Drove 1 hr to get there and would not repeat.
Nice people but course needs lots and lots of work.
Jerry, thanks for the 3-stars and taking the time to share your feedback with us. We would appreciate any additional feedback on how we can make your next round worth 4- or 5-stars, but we hope you still enjoyed the day with us. Come back to The Country Club at Deer Run again soon! #DeerRunCC
Course bad, customer service worse
I am a Golf Now VIP that has played more than 100 rounds through golf now and this is the first review I’ve ever made (good or bad). Was trying to find a course that fit time and date to take out three work assistants for golf and post round dinner, etc as an appreciation. This course worked and I got a great hot deal rate. The course was in really bad condition but no big deal because the rate was good and my co-workers don’t play so really didn’t care. Tee to green was really bad. The entire course, but again....not that big a deal. We get through the round and we are tied. So we decide to play an extra hole to break the tie. Instead of just playing the hole I decide to find someone to ask if it’s ok. No one anywhere near by the way that we could effect negatively.....I ask a guy if he worked there and he said yes. I asked if we could play one more hole. If he had said yes if you pay $10 we might have done it. Or if he said no, I’m sorry....that would have been ok. Instead, he said ‘you guys played a hot deal rate of $10.....18 holes is good enough.’ It was the most rude I have ever been treated on a golf course ever. This was done in front of numerous people. It was degrading. And for it to happen at an awful course made it even more so. I am pretty sure I paid more than $10 per person but I will say that any amount over $10 was too much. And besides, if you don’t want your tee times on golf now at a certain rate then don’t list them. The condition of the course was terrible. Add in the lack of customer friendly issue afterward.....well I will never go there again and I will be surprised if it is open 12 months from now. I have it two stars because our group had a good time with the camaraderie until post round. And I try to be understanding of all situations.
Greens in horrible shape.
Friendly staff, I like the layout. Greens are in very bad shape.
Rained out
We were suppose to play Dec 21 at 1o'clock. It had rained the day before. I got a call at 11 o'clock to say only the front 9 holes was open. I was told that they would let us play the front 9 twice. I asked about a rain check and was told to phone Golf Now. I asked what the course could help with rebooking and again they didn't handle anything deal with Golf Now. I asked when the back 9 was closed and was told at 6.30 that morning and I asked why I was not notified sooner and was told he just forgot. I find this is very unprofessional and the unfriendly . The weather was neither of our faults but the gentleman I spoke to was rude and really didn't care about me as a customer. We have been golfing at this course for the last 8 years and this experience has really turned us off.
A perfect afternoon
Weather was perfect - we played only 9 holes - we are both in our 90s and get pretty tired when we play 18 - pace was great - we only had to wait a short time once to tee off.
Bad day of Golf not the Fault of Deer Run
1st, let me say that I went to The Run as a single on a Hot Deal Spec (thus a bargain price), and got paired up with an excellent Canadian gentleman, but the other couple were virtually beginners (especially the woman didn't have a clue). The course was very crowded on Black Friday, so we kept up to group ahead, but still seemed like we held up everything. It was a slow slow round, and again no fault to staff. I felt bad for the groups behind us to see her swing & miss or 6-strokes outta a bunker. At any rate, course is OK; a few greens have been repaired, but what they need most is good experienced golfers to repair ball marks & rake the sand bunkers.
This course is older but nice
Crews were out cutting fixing and doing the repairs where needed. We loved the game but found the layout a little confusing, probably because it started as a 9 hole course then added the back nine sometime later Greens were fast, back nine was wet, needs a better picture of the fairways as some hard to figure green locations from tee boxes. All in all a great day with a nice bar.
This course has a nice layout and variety of holes.
Nice layout
Greens need work
Tee boxes - nice attention at growing grass
Price of hot deal made the longer drive worth it.
Not bad. Good design. Not in great shape
I like the layout of the course. Bar staff is courteous and quick. Pro shop guys are nice. Prices are OK. Tee boxes are never in good shape. Greens are mostly good but some are really busted up.
This place has character
I really enjoyed playing golf here and I will continue to do so! The greens are a little beat up but they have gotten better even since the last time I played there. Unfortunately the range and chipping area isn't the best and while practing your putts listen for 4's!
Thanks for the 3-stars and great feedback! We truly appreciate your patience & understanding regarding some of our course improvements, but we're glad to hear we can continue to provide our customers with a valuable golf experience. Thanks for choosing The Country Club at Deer Run and come back soon! #DeerRunCC
