Superb value for money
€11 for 18 holes in February, while nearly every other course is struggling to get 12 open. Staff inside are always really nice, options to start from the 1st or the 5th and come back around. Back nine one of the most underrated in Cork, playing over the Sullane and back again. New practice nets just put up and food in the bistro very highly rated by those around the town. Bit of a hidden gem!
Very enjoyable day
Entry to the course is through the castle arch in the middle of the town.
Manager was very helpful on arrival as 2 of our party were running late. A quick re-gig of the time sheet and all sorted. First nine are on a hillside which is steep in places but does provide good views of the surrounding countryside and the back nine. The back nine is very picturesque and flat. The 12th from memory plays over a not insignificant river. All the greens were in great condition and if there was a small criticism it would be that some of the fairway grass was a bit long in places but to be fair this was being cut as we played. Finished with e scones and coffee in the clubhouse.
Overall a great day out on a lovely course. Staff and members very friendly.
Love to play over that river again.
Very challenging Course , a few excellent holes
Probably not a true reflection /experience for myself of this course.
On arrival no staff what so ever in clubhouse, bar, reception etc, but found 1st tee box and actually parred the first hole, par 5 hole!!! Yeeeeeeooooo
The first 9 holes are seriously challenging with the sloping hillside. The back 9 more open but filled with hazards,
Very little signage, next hole, no signs on tee boxes etc.
Got lost more than once,
I got a hot deal on golf now, so shouldn't really complain, but it's the little things that count at a new course
I'm playing kenmare tomorrow and am looking forward to another great cork golf course, I played Lee Valley last year, and that was spectacular!
Course Closed Frost
Went online at 8.10 and was able to book a few time for 10.40. Travelled to the course only to find it was closed due to frosty conditions
