The course is not in shape yet, it is not well marked for club pick up and where is the next hole and how to get in the restroom.
I’ve played this course 50 times over the years l like the changes they made and next year it should be a lot better as greens will not be rock hard and fairways grow in..i played there two times this week and the pro shop has no control of the course. 5 hours on Sunday 1/13:19 and 5 1:/2 hours Tuesday 1/15:19 I will not be going back again this winter.. There’s people who are not playing golf wandering on the course people kayaking in the canals. Slow slow....
Donald Ross greens
Nice large greens, true and quick, a real joy. Great staff. Do you ever put the hole location on 18 on the left?? The fairways are still not grown in yet. Great practice areas. I wish the cart paths had been removed during remodel, it's a great course to walk. I could tee off as a walker before the cart arrived on the next hole.
Really glad I only paid $45 thru Golf Now
We paid $45 with a Golf Now Hot Deal so we were happy. The course has only been open for 6 weeks or so after several months closure for full renovations. So we knew it was not going to be at it’s best, which it wasn’t, many fairways were in rough shape and had a lot of bare and repaired patches, although greens ran smoothly and bunkers were great. But what irked me, is that the current going rate on this course for out of towners is $200, while county pays $112 and Coral Gables residents $86. That is really poor value, especially considering the course was not overly busy. I think the Biltmore needs to research their pricing model a bit more, as any smart golfer has plenty of other courses to choose from that may still charge top dollar but at least will be in top condition. So find a Hot Deal or find another course.
I liked the course layout and challenging decision making for the placement of the ball on the fairways and the greens. The renovations have not fully settled in and car path only policy slowed down the pace of the play considerably. This course can be an excellent course when it is fully healed and restored.
Improvements to the course were not visible, except for a few new bunkers. An instructor with four kids ages 12 to 16 teed off two groups in front of us (12:50 pm) which delayed us almost 30 minutes in front and it took a call to pro shop to get them removed.
Work In Progress
After several months of renovation and re-design with re-sodding, plus the addition of 14 bunkers and stretched-out holes, The Biltmore has re-opened for business, perhaps earlier than ideally desired. While the true-rolling greens and fluffy bunkers were in splendid condition at this much-beloved track, the fairways and tee boxes need a few months of rainy, humid weather to fill out, particularly on the front nine. And it was cart path only for the two of us as we labored behind a pair of walking! senior players who were often cantering all about, determined not to let us play through until the 12th hole. After that, we zipped through with nary a player in front of us, nor the beverage cart gal, who disappeared after the front nine. As usual, all of the Biltmore staff were polite and professional. Though I did not eat there after this round, the 19th Hole restaurant offers beautiful views of the course from outdoor tables, as well as tasty food. The $45 Hot Deal was worth a visit to play on my former home course,, but a return visit will not happen till May or June.
Texas Burnt Toast
Play the Biltmore if you like playing on burnt grass and pure dirt. Would have been nice if someone mentioned the course was in terrible shape and dryer than the Sahara desert. Terrible job by you guys.....
The court is going to remodel and play now as this is not worth paying at this time.
Wait for the remodeling to finish
They should not allow anyone to play this course as the grass is dead and being prepared for a major renovation. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are dead and torn up. Just wait until December when they are supposed to be done with renovations. Don’t waste your money. If I would’ve known this before purchasing I wouldn’t have purchased the round.
Course under repair. Should not allow play. Totally unfair. Golf Now to blame for no 'heads up''.
Course Under Repair
Course is being redone. Should not be played now. Golf Now gave no 'heads-up'.
Being Restored/Renovated in 2018
This is my home course. Posting so players considering a visit know that the course will close for a restoration/renovation project effective July 5th. Plans are to do as much restoring to Ross' original design as possible. Yardage will be added for improved championship level play. If project goes according to schedule; re-opening scheduled for 12/15/2018. Fingers crossed that weather cooperates, and course re-opens on schedule, and the restoration project results in an improved experience.
Really Nice Course for the money
Got a hot deal tee time and also used some reward points so I paid very little for the round. Drove down from Fort Lauderdale to play. Well worth the trip. Only thing I was surprised they didn't offer were free range balls. Usually a course of this caliber gives free range balls for the price of play. Overall this course was great and I definitely would play again if it wasn't such a far drive for myself.
heart of miami
Wide open fairways. Good course if you can get a deal.
VERY unattentive staff. Had to seek out starter.
Classic course at iconic venue. Played back to back. Second date afforded time for the traps to be raked. Express deal both days made it a 2 for 1 steal!
