Could use some cart path repairs
Fun course for the cost, cart paths were a little rough to say the least but overall good value for cost.
A quiet Saturday
Requires significant maintenance. Cannot use golf cart pathes. Canhge tee positions more often
foxwood golf
the course is worth the money. its a fun course but you must play from the right tee boxes. it does not have a lot of money to spend on the up keep but me and two other guys had a great time and we had a nice cold picture of beer after the game, you will like it. 45 min from miramar beach. we are snowbirds.also the bunkers are in great shape
A Good Afternoon
A surprisingly imaginative course. It's winter so most of the grass was dead but that didn't detract from the play. Back nine was much more challenging than the front. Fair landing areas, water came in to play often and sand traps were well placed. Greens rolled very well. Overall, a fun and challenging afternoon.
Good price, country course
Like many courses in rural areas, Foxwoods has good points going for it. The fairways are wide and tree lined. There is plenty of room to hit. The greens were in good shape. The fairways are grassy, but somewhat coarse. Definitely not an upper tier course. I enjoyed playing it as a change of pace and I'll go back. This course could be a great place to start playing golf as a beginner, too. I'm an intermediate player and used it to work on my swing. Pleasant, quiet outing.
fun and challenging local course
This is a fun and challenging course. There are some repair areas still in work from the heavy rains this last spring but these areas don't impact the playing area.
I've never eaten at the club house so I don't have a comment for that.
The course is old
The Couse is old and in need of some major repairs. Cart paths in bad shape, greens have weeds making in difficult to putt.
comfortable course
More than I expected! Very friendly staff! Small operations but big on hospitality! Course was fun and challenging to play. Erosion damage to course is the only thing that needs work! Otherwise 4 stars for a small operation!
Foxwood review
Enjoyed it overall. Staff very friendly and helpful. Course in very good condition except for the greens, which were somewhat rough, bumpy and sandy. Enjoyed the course layout, doglegs and hazards, kept it challenging; fair ways and tee boxes in gd condition. I'd recommend Foxwood to others.
Needs Work
Love the layout but this course needs lots of work. Recent flooding wiped out cart bridges but no signs are posted on the course to assist the golfer around the problems. Every lie is a tight lie with the lack of grass. This course has so much potential if it would get some TLC. I would love to come back but not until it gets some work.
The worst in the panhandle
Overall terrible. The layout of the course could've been awesome. But litterally there wasn't any grass. You could hit a shot down in the fairway and you've some how penalized yourself. From sand, mud, weeds literally in the fairway. Fringe around the so called greens was nothing but weeds. One tee box on a par 3, I made a joke about it because StAugustine grass was growing. I bought the round for $10 on golf now just to try it. They should pay us to play their course!
Course needs some work
This course needs a lot of work, the fairways need to be seeded due to the lack of grass. There was one maybe 2 greens that did not have bare spots on it and each one putted differently. This had to be the worse golf course I have ever played on would definitely not recommend to the seasoned golfer but would be good for a beginner golfer since the course was short distance wise. The guy behind the counter was new and did not have a clue, but he was courteous. Another guy walked in and said another Golf Now customer? This is the third one today, like we were not worthy of playing there. Driving range only had backyard grass and weeds to hit off of. Very disappointed and will not be playing there again.
Typical struggling course in America
Foxwood is another example of small membership golf courses in America that are dying a slow but painful death. This course has a great layout but needs major maintenance that the members can't afford(herbicides, fertilizer, etc). The staff is super friendly and the members accommodated our slow group by going around us when we held them up. Played with two beginners that lost probably 30 balls between the two of them. We only paid $10 to play so overall experience was good.
Why bother?
Greens are very bad and fairways(if you count mud, dirt and weeds as a fairway) may be worse. This layout could be a good little course, but there is obviously no $$$ spent for upkeep and maintenance. Did I mention the sinkholes in the "cart paths"? You get the picture. Why bother?
wisconsin golferPP
Being From Wis I Didnt Think It Possible That I Would Ever Find The Worst Golf Course In America In FloriDa. One Would Think That With A 12 Month Growing Season There Might Be Grass On The Course.
Will not return
The course lacks a lot of TLC and maintenance. Perhaps, there's just not enough money to keep up with it. I don't think its worth the price to play there, the quality just isn't worth it. I've played nicer courses for the same price.
Foxwood Country Club
Course is doing well after all the rain lately. Still collecting mud on the balls if you play within a day after a rain, but that's to be expected in this area. Greens are really better than most of the local courses. Enjoyed the round.
Water hazards
16 of the holes had some kind of water hazard. Not all of them came into play. The course was very interesting for Florida, definitely not flat. A welcome break from your typical Florida course. staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Only negative would be the cart paths, if you are not watching the path it might jar you loose from your seat.
Good value
Rough fairways and cart paths. Spent a lot of time cleaning mud of my ball.
