About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in Dec 2018.
Crystal River Golf Club (formely known as Seven Rivers Golf & Country Club) has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1968. The course is not only one of Crystal River's most affordable rounds but also one of its most scenic. It's not unusual for golfers to be joined by the golf course's abundant wildlife, which includes everything from turtles and alligators to egrets and eagles. The golf course has a traditional parkland layout that is routed through stands of mature oak and maple trees. A network of ponds and steams weaves throughout the golf course as well. It's a challenging but fair test where water hazards and sand bunkers come into play often. In addition to the course, Crystal River Golf Club also has a practice facility with a driving range and a putting green with a sand bunker.

Weeds!!
I play here often, and have seen the amount of weeds (some knee high) on some of the Fairways and all of the Tee boxes increase tremendously. The Tee Boxes are in really bad shape. If the Greens weren't in such good condition, I'd be playing elsewhere more often. Don't let this course turn into a cow pasture!!
great value
excellent value, good layout, very convenient for those in the area, very nice greens, good green speed
Crystal River
Use to be Seven Rivers and changed to Crystal River G.C. Greens were good, but the rest of the course could use a good greens keeper's touch. Starting to look rough. Tee boxes were horrible.
nice course
A lot of soggy areas for first time playing, lost several balls to plugged lies
Can get very soggy after heavy rain
Generally like this course because holes are relatively short.
Challenging because of many water hazards and some woods.
Major problem is after heavy rains there is a lot of casual standing water on many fairways.
Always a good value
I play this course often, as I feel the GolfNow prices are a good value. Only problem is that there are parts of the course (mostly roughs/off edge of fairways) that never get a chance to drain. In fact, for the last couple of months, parts of the cart paths on holes 7 & 9 are impassable because of the standing water. In spite of this being a low lying course so close to the Gulf Coast, they seem to keep the fairways and greens in pretty good shape. If you are reasonably close, this is a challenging course, alligators included!
great course
the whole course was wonderful shape fairways were lush and well maintained greens were receptive ,fast but notto fast
Overpriced
Course has gone down hill. Played a few days after coring, thought a price reduction would be appropriate - price was just the opposite, way overpriced for the general condition of the course Starting with patchy tee boxes, weeds in the fairway to the cored greens, very disappointed with the overall condition and then knowingly paying too much.
Great course great staff
I had a little trouble finding on gps, but once there it was beautiful, the staff and patrons were extremely nice, and the course was in awesome shape. Highly recommend this gem
Fair Course for older golfers
The distance is good for older golfers, I'm 68 and I was able to reach most of the holes in regulation. The greens are in bad shape, need work. The layout is nice and the staff is very friendly.
Great course
Played many times and never had a bad experience .
Crystal River GC
Appears course has changed name recently.. Mapquest directions and hole markers had it at 7 River Golf CC. Overall an average experience. Layout straight forward, except for 17 which is double dogleg par 5 that can be reached in two as long as you cut the corners both over trees. Conditions not to good at this time. Course is very dry and brown. Greens brownish, bumpy and appear not to be growing. They were relatively quick but did not roll good. Everyone I met was very nice. Scored well, OK course if your in the area but would not go out of your way to play right now.
The starter was missing
Pace of play was a problem only because there was no starter. As a result non listed players were getting in between the player that had a starting time and as a result we exceeded the 4 hours we easily could have made with our 4-ball.
The tee boxes for the ladies were substantially worse than the ones for men.
Good for the money
Very friendly staff. course in real good shape, especially compared to others in area
Nice Course
The course is not too difficult. It's level with few forced carries to worry about; not too much water to bother you. Good layout and condition. The greens were very fast and subtly deceptive. I liked the course a lot.
Crystal River Golf Course
Fun track with no hazards to speak of, like how course sets up. Course lays out nicely, no guessing. Price is higher than it needs to be, more of a $25 during week and $33 (I paid) for weekends.
