Vineyard National Golf Course
The 18-hole, public The Vineyards is situated in the South Jersey Pinelands with beautiful views of orchards and vineyards. The same meticulous care that goes into Renault's award-winning restaurant and winery went into the championship golf course that spans over 7,000 yards.
The designer kept frequent golfers in mind when creating the layout for the course but it won't overwhelm golfers with higher handicaps. There are strategic elements that offer the opportunity for risk and reward. The 1st hole is the signature hole offering a beautiful view of the vineyards. The Vineyards has a yardage of 7,213 playing to a par of 72.

A little disappointed
Have been playing this course annually for the past 8-10 years and this is the first time I was a little disappointed. Definitely not in the same “good” condition as in the past. Some of the bunkers were unplayable (not wet) and tee boxes were chewed up. Layout is good and it’s a little less $$ than nearby shore courses but next year I’m going to recommend our group spend a little more and go to another course.
Overall, course was great, a couple holes were very wet.
Nice course but
Played last year and course was in very good condition. Nice layout, greens, tee boxes and fairways were well groomed today. Unfortunately, many of the traps had little or no sand. Some also have drainage issues with 3-4 inch puddles a few days after rainfall. Sand can't be that costly for a course close to the beach! Hope the management understands they are competing with nearby courses in same price range in better condition.
This is a fine course and a good deal through Golf Now. The traps need some work. The greens are really good. The tees and fairways appear to have suffered from some very wet weather. The layout is enjoyable.
Better than expected
After reading some reviews about the course, I was second guessing my decision. In the end I wasn't able to change so I played 7/5 with a time at 7:03. We ended going off as the first group of the day so pace was excellent as we finished in about 3:45. Staff was nice and friendly.
The bad. The traps are in really bad shape. Quite a few are like cement or even dirt. Several had standing water.
Some areas of the course need more attention such as grooming around the traps and areas of burnt or diseased grasses.
The good. Overall it was in better shape than other reviews had sounded to me. Greens were in pretty good shape and I really liked their shape and contours. The course layout was interesting to me. Not a standard farm field. Traps in the middle of the fairway and interesting approach shots with strategic traps. Picturesque shots with the vineyards.
I'm glad I played it. I wouldn't mind coming back in a couple years after the new management gets it back into top quality shape. I gave it average but it could become good in a couple years with continued improvement. I'm a bit critical in my opinion of courses and had expected it might be a 2 but it was a solid 3 with the potential to be a 4 one day.
Going downhill fast
This used to be one of my favorite courses in south jersey, but no longer. It’s gone thru ownership and name changes yet again and course conditions seem to not be a priority at all. Your day starts off on a practice green that’s half unusable do to disease and poor maintenance. The bunkers are mostly sand less pits either filled with water or rocks. The greens are slow and incredible bumpy do to the poor maintenance now being done there. The halfway shack for food and drinks never opens now, tho there was a beverage cart out that had a small selection of drinks. It’s a shame what this course has become and the direction it seems to continue to be headed towards.
Good time great hot rate
Course was great but the bunkers need help. Please put some sand in the bunkers. I know you’re not supposed to be in there but there is supposed to be sand and not rocky hard dirt. Other than that great day
Good Layout, but....
I liked the layout and setup, but the course really needs some work. Bunkers were rocky and hard, no Black Tees and some areas were over run. Greens on the slow side.
Vineyard National has a nice layout with generous fairways. The greens are large with some difficult pin locations & sharp breaks. The sand traps are desperately in need of additional sand! Overall, an interesting, enjoyable round of golf. Need to play in the pm to get price rate reduction.
We made a tee time on-line for 10:48. There was an outing with a shotgun start out at 9 AM. The ranger was friendly but worthless. We waited on every shot. The course was in poor shape. The greens were OK but in spots there was disease. The traps were in horrible shape. They were full of water and had not been attended to for what appeared to be for years. We were told the course was under new management but I am not sure what if anything they have done to the course. My group will never return.
Traps need work
Course was in decent shape other than the traps were lacking in sand. Open course, minimal trees. Pretty flat. Some nice holes but overall not a memorable track.
Average Golf Course that has Big Potential
Played here May 2019. The experience here is average. Tee boxes are in good condition, fairways in good condition, rough in average condition (could be grown higher), bunkers in poor condition, greens in below average shape for this time of year. The bunkers at this course have been in poor condition for years now. Little progress has been made. Drainage and new sand needed in all traps. Greens were aerated 3 weeks prior to my visit. Greens should have been completely healed with all the rain we've had since the aeration. This course has the potential to be top in the Atlantic City area if they improve the bunkers and green conditions. The amenities at the course also need improvement. Updated golf clubhouse, new food and drink concession stand on course and beverage cart are needed. Views are great here of the vineyard and layout of course is great but updates are needed here.
Really nice course for the money.
Played this course a couple of times in the last month and it really looks like the new management is doing a great job. The fairways are in great shape and the greens are fast. Pretty long course from the whites.
Course is fun - lots of levels- greens were aerated but it still was a good day
Would’ve been nice to know that there are Air rating the front nine before we arrive next time you should make sure when people book that you tell them
