Not crowded
The course was in good shape everyone very nice almost no on there like playing a private course. I would definitely go back
My fav value track
Honestly, for value you can't go wrong here. Layout is very nice and deceptively forgiving. I personally love the challenge of the smaller greens but some of them could use a little TLC, only a handful really had noticeable blotchiness and mud patches that i wish they would just put a "ground under repair sign" so you don't have to putt through it and be angry when you miss. Tee boxes and fairways in decent - good shape, rough was kind of meh (they keep it very low so you'll never lose a ball), sand i was expecting to be like concrete and was actually very very decent and well kept. So at the end of the day why play this course? Their staff are genuinely just so so so kind and helpful and they set the tone for the whole course, it really feels like a nice laid back track filled with some very nice golfers. You'll finish your round in 2 - 2.5 hours easy and the practice amenities aren't half bad with a 250 yard range ($8 i think for a bucket), chipping area and practice green. Helpful tip play this course in the morning when there is still some dew on the ground because it's very manageable when wet and when you can take a proper divot. If you play later morning or high noon the course dries up very fast and can be a little less forgiving especially around the greens with lies on hard ground.
Course has an older style layout. Small greens and some doglegs. Pace of play was great finished in just over 2 hrs only had to wait on 4 holes toward the end of the round. Recommend course for a quick practice round using a $10 coupon price was right.
Small greens
The greens were small on this course.. didn’t make a turn after 9 holes…
Winter in Florida
The clubhouse isn’t open for food or beverages since Covid..
Small greens some in need of repair pin placement would take care of most issues.
Water along most fairways not really in play .
Pleasantly surprised
Was apprehensive about playing here due to the negative reviews. But was pleasantly surprised and had a great time. Yes the greens have issues, but the tee boxes, fairways and rough were fine. Bunkers were groomed and filled with quality sand. The course winds through a beautiful community of private homes, with canals and wildlife. Nice driving range and practice facilities. Had course to ourselves on a cold and windy Sunday. Great value at $25 with cart. If you’re expecting a country club experience, this is not your course. But if you don’t obsess over the imperfections, it’s a nice day of golf with great pace of play at bargain prices. Shout out to Tony from Huntsville Al, enjoyed playing with you bro.
Front nine was good
The front nine made me question the poor reviews the back nine was not so nice
Needs work
The holes are followed by water on both sides. The greens are in terrible condition.
Overpriced/ no amenities
The price they charge for this course is unreasonable.
Greens are in fair condition some with patches of dirt
Bunkers are horrible not to mention there are no rakes available
Bathrooms on the course are a joke. Let’s just say it’s safer to use the woods.
Enjoyable
Course was not busy, in fairly good shape, pro shop guy very friendly.
Another great day at Pelican Bay
This is my 2nd time playing this course
The only knock on this great course is a very few patches of crab grass and a few bold spots on the greens
The staff are great and made suggestions on how to play this course
My score was 3 strokes better than my 1st round
In the future, this is the only course that I am going to play when I am in the Daytona Beach area
getting close
This course conditions have improved each of the last two years. The fairways and the tee boxes are much better. The greens are better, but there are a number of greens that still need to be worked upon. I would play it again for the price I got. Jim
Great value Great staff fairly easy course if you can hit it straight
3rd time playing this course. Can’t beat it for $20. Friendly staff. Fast paced and straight forward. Great for a quick round or beginner’s. It’s become my go to get out of the house course. I will definitely be back.
This was the best course that I have played in a month in Florida
The fairways were filled in and nicely groomed
The bunkers were groomed and did not have any crab grass in them
Some of the greens had a few bare spots but generally the greens were in good shape and free of crab grass
The greens were a little slow but the ball rolled fairly true on most of them
With water on both sides of most fairways, you had to hit the ball down the middle to avoid the penalties
This is a very picturesque course that you need to play if you are in the Daytona Beach area
Pelican Bay
Great layout
Everything is in transition and it has been dry and warmer than usual
Everything is someway brown including the greens. They have been watering but winter overseed is dying
Course is not busy but is still enjoyable
As soon as we get a good rain it should improve
Most of the course is well trimmed
Greens at dry and dead in places
