Worst "bunkers" I ever saw.
Been playing golf for 43 years. Worst bunkers I ever saw. Not a speck of sand to be seen. Hard dirt and grass growing in the bunkers. Most were mini water hazards since they couldn't drain. Course design and layout was very good. But until the bunkers are fixed, just take a free drop.
Solid Tee to Green
This course has a fantastic layout and tee to green is very solid. The harsh criticism of the bunker conditions is 100% warranted and really my only criticism other than a couple rough fairways. Played in the off season on a weekday so pace of play was a non issue.

Staff are excellent & very knowledgeable Golf course was great very challenging. Greens were in good shape
FIX YOUR BUNKERS! Pace of play was garbage as well. This course should really cost you $40 to play a round here all things considered.
Finally Royce Brook as it should be!
We were very happy to find this course in such a great condition as it used to be. Greens were fast and rolling true. The challenging and fun day we had. Definitely will be back before the end of the season.

I love this course, I just wish the would put sand in the bunkers. The bunkers have been in disrepair for over 2 years now. I would pay up for a complete course. Green are great, fairways well maintained, if they put sand in the bunkers (or even grass) that course would be a 5.
Bunkers? What Bunkers?
No sand in bunkers- dirt, overgrown, but there were rakes? Rakes?
Not what it used to be
This used to be a really nice course. I last played here in March and was shocked to see how far downhill this course has gotten. Most bunkers didn't even have sand and lots of grass and weeds growing in them. Greens were a bit chewed up, same with many teeboxes. Not even a starter to watch the pace of play (which had a kids tournament ahead of us, so 5 hr round). Not sure what the plans are for RB but they're obviously putting in minimal maintenance.
Clay Traps
Sad to see the way sand traps have been completely neglected on this course -- there is literally no sand! Quite a few traps were small ponds. The course has a lot of traps, and none of them had any sand, not even the traps around the greens. It's a shame because the rest of the course is in very good shape. This situation with the traps has been going on for years now, just getting worse. Without sand in the traps, a round of golf here should not be over $35 with cart, and it is routinely a lot more.
