The course is layed out extremely well. Wide fairways allow you to keep the ball in play. Fairways are in average shape but allowing to "roll ball" helps. Greens roll well but are spotty with weeds. Extremely good deal for price.
Whoever is in charge has ruined what once was a wonderful course
Not in good condition
Overall disappointing condition. If the city would allocate more funds for the maintenance of this course it would be a pleasure to return over and over again to play. Maybe less funds for the tennis center downtown and a little more for the golf course.
Pro shop reasonable prices
Restaurant bad service in bar snack shop
Cart boys ignored us, even left our ice waters sitting
Carts were old beaters
Greens just aerated and no one told us
Fairways dried out, lots of dirt
Course in good condition except for greens because of maintenance being done on them which is reasonable.
Keep It In The Middle
Once a Donald Ross nine-holer, this rugged throwback track expanded to 18 holes in 1950 and has since become an afterthought to nearby, better-conditioned courses. With dark clouds hovering, throughout, my playing partner and I sped through a pleasant round trying to avoid rain and a brutal rough framing fairways that were in fair condition. The greens had recently been sanded, but unexpectedly ran fast and true. Bunkers were hickory hard. While the front nine played a bit tougher than the Ross back nine, the overall design was not too challenging, unless the tee shot found the rough. A new course super is working hard to restore course conditions. There was no beverage cart service. Pro shop and cart attendant were polite and attentive. A cozy bar provided a nice refuge from deluge that hit the course as we finished. The $14 hot deal was worth the price, but would not play if fee were more than $20.
Can’t beat $10.00 on GolfNow.com
Can not argue with a $10.00 price for 18 holes with cart! However, bar was slow to get beers and a cooler. Also, no beverage girl on the course. Further, there was NO WATER at any of the holes! But, at the 2 bathrooms, you could get water at a fountain.
Yes! I would definitely play this course again! Can’t beat $10.00 on Golf Now!
Have played this course many time and have generally been pleased , but this trip was somewhat awful
Got off to an ok start and we were keeping up pace of play pretty , the group behind us never waited long but seeing them in the pro shop on check in I could tell they were regulars / member type and on leagues at this course and I guess they felt they were privileged and should not have to wait at all so they must have called a buddy that works there and had him come out a basically yell at us and I mean yell , not polite at all.
If this is the way the staff treats paying patrons I won’t no part of this course.
Not only that there were many tee boxes in very rough shape that were almost all sand.
So that being said take your chances that you aren’t in front of the privileged.
With so may golf course in the area you would think they should be trying to get repeat players not run them off
