Delray Beach Golf Club
About
Delray Beach Golf Club is the championship sister course to the executive Lakeview Golf Club, which is located less than a mile away. It is also less than three miles from downtown Delray Beach. Opened in 1926, Donald Ross designed the layout and over the years, touring professionals on their way to Miami have made it a habit to stop and play the classic design. Its still-growing popularity is a testament to the quality of the round. It provides a quick round that can be played in just over 4 hours but it still offers enough challenges for low handicappers. There is very little water coming into play but with the strategic bunkering that is abundant throughout the course, water features will hardly be missed. The club also has a reputation for being one of the most well maintained public courses in the area as well.

Great layout
Public choices are a little scarce in DelRay so we play here. If they could do something with the rough it would really be a nice round. The Donald Ross layout is challenging and the greens were pretty fast so it's really a great value. Staff are exceptional
A Donald Ross Disaster
This course has tons of potential. However, I’ve never played a course with WORSE greens. It was totally embarrassing how horrible these greens were. How they can let a course get this bad is beyond me. I was hitting a few balls on the range at 6:45am and it was off mats. There were no tees on the mats so I moved up to the grass where I could put a tee into the ground to hit a few drivers. And then the ranger came over and said “mats only please!” Are you kidding me. Like I was going to do any damage to the grass. I’m a 2-handicap and he’s worried about the grass on the worst range I’ve ever seen! What a joke. Pace of play was also horrendous. Overall experience on this course is ZERO! I can’t believe the attitude these people have - truly shocking. My word of advice - Find another course!!!!
Please repair the greens!
The greens are a disaster. Just shut 9 holes at a time in the summer and resod please!
Poor condition
The greens are in terrible condition , half of them with no grass.
Time to invest
It’s time to invest in this course great location great layout great course staff but the course itself has been kept up terribly for years now all the other local courses are in great shape but not Delray spend some of these high tax $ on this place or let it go !
Delray = Why Play?
The greens appear to be under repair. One of the greens was 70% sand. They felt like an obstacle course for four wheelers
Greens are un-puttable
Course layout is nice and fairways are decent, but the greens alone ruined the round. If you want to play here, add 5-10 strokes to your average score because the greens are terrible. The grass is thick and slow and you cant get a true read for putts. Dry spots and sandy spots scattered throughout all 18 greens. Would not recommend and do not plan on going back unless the greens are fixed. Extremely overpriced for such pour course conditions.
Rough Shape
Had a good time as I played this course for the first time with other out of town folks. As noted in other reviews the greens were in poor condition. Muliple brown and bare spots. The grass was long and putts were slow. Bunkers were okay but could use more sand. Tee boxes were okay but occasional bare spots in the fairways. I was surprised the course wasn't in better condition for the time of the year. Course management definitely needs to give it a lot of attention. Looked like the local regulars enjoy themselves. I'll return next year hopefully to see improvements, but recommend you spend a few bucks more and look elsewhere to play for now.
Will only Play at a Discount Rate
The course had a very nice layout and the staff was great and very well run. Fairways in pretty good shape. But the greens are awful, with very poor maintenance. No grass on some areas of the greens or rough patches that affect the roll of the ball. Will only play with a deal price.
Playing thru the raindrops
I have played there before and the course in reasonable comdition. The tee boxes were ok as were the fairways. The greens could use some TLC. The group in front of us were playing the blue tees and should have on the green or the white. They needed some education in course etiquette. We eventually passed them. Overall it was a good day with my Canadian partners who were very nice. The title refers to two intermittent but heavy downpours.
Course Condition was TERRIBLE!
I was charged $57.00 + for a poorly kept golf course. The fairways had a LOT of weeds and the greens looked like they were bombed. To say they were terrible is an understatement, a lot of them lacked grass! This was golf worth $20 dollars at best based on the course condition. Never playing it again.
Green unplayable
Not sure how you can even operate a golf course with greens this bad. You know its going to be bad when even the practice green barely has any grass.
Staff is also really rude. One of the Rangers thinks he owns the place.
It's a shame they let a Donald Ross course come to this
Greens need some attention.
Doesn’t seem to have enough people helping people with their clubs.
No help, no club cleaning, no tip.
greens were in terrible conditions were ok 1 month ago, it s the reason i am cancelling my next the times
