Neshanic Valley Golf Course - Meadow/Ridge Course
About
Neshanic Valley Golf Course is a 27-hole layout that was designed by the renowned team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry. The course is divided into three nines that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines -- the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow -- are named after the different features of the varied terrain but each par-36 nine has five different sets of tees, which provides playing options for all skill levels. On the Meadow/Ridge Course you'll find ample fescue along the fairways and greens. The greens are especially tricky since not only are they framed by massive bunkers, the putting surfaces are also contoured. Though the slopes are subtle, they can be very tricky. There is a pond on the front nine and environmentally sensitive wetlands come into play throughout.

Best public course in NJ - beats many private ones
Played on Friday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend. Great staff - easy check in. Starter was friendly. Practice green in great condition. Two of us walked and two took a cart. We played Meadow-Lake combo. We finished Meadow in 2 hours. Lake took a bit longer - 2 hours 15 mins due to a slow group ahead of us. Conditions are fantastic throughout - tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, greens. You won’t find better conditions at many private clubs. Rough is getting thicker so harder to find balls that go in there. Highly recommend playing this course. Thank you Somerset County for the great conditions you maintain here and other county courses also.
Fantastic
It's a true blessing to be able to play such a beautiful course in great shape that isn't private. The staff is also very friendly and professional
Probably one of the top county courses in the state. Great layout with a mixture of difficult and risk reward holes. Very good conditions on rolling terrain but wind does come into play.
Nice layout, greens are too slow
It felt like i was putting on the fairway with the greens. The course is beautiful though so i'll take it. The 4some behind us hit into our group a few times which was rude.
Two things to consider if that happens, one, call the pro shop and ask that a ranger come out and toss the jerks off the course, or hit the ball back at the person who hit into your group, sometimes 2 wrongs make a right.
