The Architects Golf Club
About
The Architects Golf Club is a unique layout that honors legendary course designers including Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and Alistair Mackenzie. Each hole is named after a famous designer, beginning with Old Tom Morris. The opening par 5 pays homage to St. Andrews' designer through the use of the existing features as hazards such as the rock wall and the sloping hillside that the green is deftly carved into. One of the most memorable holes is the 13th, another par 5 that will give you a taste of what it's like to play Augusta. This Alistair Mackenzie-inspired hole offers many risks and rewards. Golfers will face fairways bunkers and a pond on the left and then a creek that runs diagonally in front of the triple-tiered green. Position is the key to maneuvering this tough hole.

Wish there were public courses like this near Westchester, NY.
Overall rating - 4.5/5
Tees - 5/5
Fairways - 5/5
Greens 4/5
Bunkers (NA - 3 inches of rain the night before I played so they were washed out. I can't blame the course for this. The only bunker I went into was a pond, so I can't say what they would be like if not for the rain.).
I drove 2 hours to play here. It was my first time on this course, and it didn't disappoint. Absolutely gorgeous. They had 3" of rain the night before I played, so unfortunately the bunkers were washed out. Everything else at Architects was amazing. Very well manicured for a public course. New Jersey really does it right with their courses. Architects, Heron Glen, and Neshanic Valley are 3 of the nicest courses I've ever played in terms of course conditions, visual appeal, and playability. If you bring your A game to these places, you'll score well.
I was the second person out on the course so pace of play was great. Zipped through the course pretty quickly and would've been even faster if there was no rain and it wasn't cart path only. I wish I had walked the course since I feel like I did more walking with cart path only, than I would've had I just walked.
Since there was so much rain the night before, and the course was soaked, it made it a tough on a few holes. But again, not the courses fault. Still very playable. The rain killed any sort of roll on drives, but probably helped me on a few greens. The rain made a few of the long par 4's even longer (4, 14, 15, 16 all measuring between 420 and 455). Would love to come back down here to play when it's dried up a bit and the ball rolls more.
Highly recommend playing this place if you get the chance. I would've ranked the "Course Conditions a 5 if not for the rain.
Excellent course for all skill levels!!
I absolutely love playing here. The course is very fair with wide fairways but challenging at the same time. with some lengthy par 4’s even from the one up tees. Yes, the weekends are pricey but if you can get out during the week it is super cheap. There are multiple tee boxes for all handicap levels so you will have fun out there. I highly recommend this course!! If you have not played this course you are missing out
Great course
Wide open and forgiving fairways with challenging greens. Great condition. Highly recommend.
Overall course is ok. Greens are beat up a bit from people not fixing ball marks. Losing some of the greens. Seams like this is every year. Maybe time for another greens keeper.
Course has great variety
I live about an hour away from the course and never hesitate to book a time. Always in great condition has a great variety of holes and always a well paced round. Beverage cart makes its way around every couple holes. Always a great round.
excellent course extremely friendly staff will play again here
Let it go.
Course is extremely big and open. The greens are very large.and true. well maintained tee boxes and the fairways can’t be beat. Rough isn’t too long, you can easily find your ball. Only problem is that on the greens, players are not repairing their ball marks.
Great except for bunkers
One of the best courses around except for the bunkers - hard, mostly clay / dirt. Not good.
Affordable championship course
Very challenging, excellent design, excellent condition. Staff are very friendly
Big true greens.
I Play this course a couple times every year. A fantastic lay out. The greens are fast and true, the fairways are wide, the rough is cut you can find your ball With very little difficulty. A quality playing experience.
Nice Place
Played in a crisp 4 hours and love this course. Good layout and not to hard to stay out of trouble. The northeast has been pumneled by rain all spring and this course was in perfect shape.
Impressive
Tee time was at the conclusion of an outing. Course was wide open. Was able take in full experience without feeling rushed. Greens were about 85% back from aeration, rest of course was in perfect shape. Definitely a must replay.
GN now made it a great value. Gives Ballyowen a run for its money. Nice interpretation of replica holes.
Aeration but fun
Played as the aeration seems to be coming back for the greens, still early, fairways, tee box’s were fine, greens are still coming back. I love the course and the building, early April we expected the aeration, played on a day with few players so we moved relatively quick, will return as often as possible.
The course is a lot of fun.
Played with 2 buddies had a great time, course was wet because of Sat. rain but greens were fast
@jdamkp, been there a bunch over the years. One of the only courses in the area that's worth spending the money on.
Check out Links at Unionvale. Little north of Westchester but a shorter drive than Architects.
