Scotland Run Golf Club
About
Scotland Run Golf Club is conveniently located less than a half hour from downtown Philadelphia and only 45 minutes from Atlantic City. It has been voted the top golf course in the Philadelphia Region and it's also ranked in Golf World's Top 50 Public Courses in the country. The layout is routed through and around an old sand quarry, providing a unique mix of wooded, quarry, and links-style holes. The distinctive landscape has unique features including expansive waste areas and imposing cliffs that were deftly incorporated into the design. The golf course is wide open, which means it's at the mercy of the prevailing winds. Scotland Run Golf Club is a tough but fair test where you'll face forced carries, water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers. On mornings where the fog rolls off of the hills, for a split second you might think you're at St. Andrews.

Love this place
Great track! Keep it in the short stuff or it’ll be a long day!…oh and make sure you bring your short game with you, greens can be diabolical
Home course
Scotland Run is one of 3 Ottinger golf properties and all are fine facilities and excellent courses. They are a bit overpriced $125/round for level of conditions but i guess you learn to pay if you play in NJ. Overall, a recommended course with good service and conditions.
Great pace of play
Just a great place to play, good conditions and top quality course a little pricey but worth it
Fun, interesting course
This course is easily one of the most fun and unique courses in south jersey. It was built in a former sand quarry and there are reminders of that throughout. There are elevation changes and obstacles that you won’t really find elsewhere. Conditions are usually well above average and pace of play isn’t usually a problem.
Outstanding track but with an understanding disappointment
We were blessed with some outstanding weather for late November, along with being greeted by friendly staff and a day of playing with a member who was just as friendly, playing an awesome course, and greens that ran true. The only disappointment were the sand traps which lacked sand and grooming but with the 2020 economic conditions due to this virus it’s understandable that this was one of many things that had to be addressed. 100% Guaranteed we will be back and already sent word out to some other friends how great this course was.
A quick 9
Was able to get a hot deal here at 3pm....excellent place to play after work. Course is in outstanding shape.
Nice course, terrible pace of play.
I have played this course several times, but this was the first time back in probably 10 years. I always liked the course and excellent facility, but the pace of play was previously unbearable. I figured I’d give it a shot on a Thursday, since my previous Saturday rounds were memorably excessively long. The course was not overly busy, but back 9 ended up being insufferably slow, as usual. Course was in great shape but the back 9 is too difficult for most and just backs up tremendously.
Always A favorite!
Scotland Run is essentially my home course.
The course gets a little crowed on Fri-Sun. and is a bit pricey for the conditions. Greens were in fantastic shape , fairway were good some with some standing water from prior rain storm. Bunkers had wet sand and had been at least graded, tee boxes need work. Never tire of this layout as it offers many interesting holes all different and some short and easy while others are a difficult up hill challenge such as, (par 5 -18th) a fabulous difficult finisher.
Visually impressive
This course looks great. It is pleasant to see and fun to play. Lots of traps and not a lot of water. Traps have a thin layer of sand and are very hard under that. Greens were fast. No easy par 3s . Looking forward to playing again and to improve the number I put up today.
It’s Good, but...
I love the layout. My problem is what I’ve seen all too often on higher end priced courses. The “day golfers”, and probably the member, don’t take care of the course. They paid their “X dollars”, and they expect others to clean up behind them. Too many beat up tee boxes, divets not repaired, and ball marks on the greens. They have a few short par 4’s that have SW or LW into greens, and the landing areas are left abused. And can’t anyone fix a GF ball mark...? I just wish they had a ranger out there to enforce courtesy. Oh, but other than that, l did enjoy the layout and the round.
Great Course
Love to have more daily reasonable priced Hot Deals. Concession lady was very nice. Course was in impeccable condition. Smart to close off certain areas to regrow the rough. It’s a treat to play this course.
