Great day

Had a lovely day at Clontarf Golf club.

The manager in the golf shop was friendly and helpful, made me feel very welcome.

I booked it solo and was lucky to hook up with 3 guys, who were great company.

The course is in great condition, greens are immaculate with anice variety of holes. The signature hole 12th is very pretty with a lovely water fountain feature.

Longer hitters might feel this course to be too short, but I really enjoyed it.

Some very interesting holes.

The course is a bit tight but if you are fairly straight it is a very good, enjoyable course. Some very interesting holes.

Short, tight, slow, pretentious, boring,

Perfect for old men and beginners who know no better. Deteriorated hugely over the last twenty years. Greens are slow and diseased. Pace of play in excess of five hours.
Some very strange, very angry members who made us feel very unwelcome.
There are much better options so this place should be avoided unless you want to experience an exceptionally tiny golf course that should have been converted into social housing a long time ago.

Lovely compact course

This is a really nice course in the middle of suburbia. The 12th hole is one of the best I have ever played.
Only downside was that the 4 ball in front never offered our 2 ball to play through.

beatiful greens

The front 9 is very tight and you will hear lots of "fores" if its busy. Greens are superb and fast. The holes in the middle of the back nine are a great test. The 12th is famous and has changed a lot over the years, its even tougher now, if you get on in two you will have a story to tell.

Very good urban golf course

Course in very good condition, fairways are immaculate and the greens are in great condition too.
The holes are not very look but the fairways are pretty narrow which make the course a bit challenging.

12th hole is definitely the signature hole (don't even think taking the driver on the tee).

Overall, a very good urban golf course, it just logically misses a scenic view.

A course or extremes....

As I only live not too far away from this course I was always eager to try it out. Having seen a good deal on this site I thought it an ideal opportunity to try it out.
The weather could not have been better and there was no one either in front of or behind us.
The course was in great condition but for some reason everything is more secretive than a free masons lodge meeting. There is no map on the card, no shot saver available so we spent a lot of time looking not only for the hole we were playing but also the next tee box. The holes are fairly short and on some areas you have to watch for cross overs as fairways cross tee boxes etc.
The 12th hole is great fun but more like crazy golf especially if it is your first time playing it.
Overall this course is nice, but would we rush back to play it a full price, sorry but no.
