About
The Links Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the ultimate in risk-reward golf. The architect, Tom Jackson, routed five holes along the bay and then wound the course inland across rolling undulations. In order to prevail against the blustery Gulf Coast winds, accuracy and proper club selection are essential, making it a true shot-maker's golf course. In addition to being right along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, the Baytowne Marina serves as a backdrop to the course, providing even more stunning views of the Emerald Coast. Of the four championship golf courses that Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers, the Links is one of the original two and also one of the most popular. The layout offers a unique links experience that all skill levels can enjoy, especially since it features four different sets of tees.

RUIINED DAY OF GOLF ON VACATION
I arrived at the course about 35 minutes before my tee time. I went to the pro-shop and paid, but was told I would need to talk to the starter about when they could get me off. I said but ai have an 11:53 tee time. I was told I had been mixed in with a big group for somewhere and they had gotten them off early. I talked to the starter who said he really didn't know where to put me as all head had were 4somes. Not happy I headed back to the pro-shop. On the way the started called to me and wanted to put me out between 4somes as a single. Not a good plan. Then he was going to put me with a 4some and make it a 5some. I don't play in 5somes. I went back and was given a full refund, but lost a day of golf on vacation on a beautiful Florida day.. I will have to think carefully about trusting Tee Off with my next golfing plans.. Be very careful when you book so your golfing vacation does not get spoiled by poor management on the part of both the golf course and Tee Off. Both are to blame for this fiasco.

Enjoyable Round in Destin
Plenty challenging from the back tees for this 60 year old. Shot 87 which included a couple of penalties as punishment for soft drives.
Greens had a lot of depth, important to take enough club with the stick in the back.
Pace of play was excellent. Would love to play again!

Underrated Option in Destin
Look, this is a quirky/target golf course. Most people will not have a lot of room to bang driver out here and if you are struggling with your game you will get penalized out here. However, you have to think through your shots and options out here. A lot of water, doglegs, specific target yardages to hit, etc. I have played this golf course several times and I didn’t love it the first time because I didn’t throttle back and play as it was laid out to be.
Conditions are usually pretty good, you can often find tee times here and the relative value vs other destin courses is good.

Slow shotgun group.... awesome course/staff
Great course, love hitting it. Got out in first group, breezed through up until they put a fairly well known group of older northern people in a shotgun start. First 17 holes in 2 hours 15 minutes, last hole was 20 minutes. These guys are painfully slow, avoid them and you're in for a fun round.

Beautiful course. Two basic comments- we played the links course in entering the subdivision. There were no signs guiding us to this course.
Second, in three or four locations there were no signs directing you to the next hole.
