Sunny days

The sun was very low and right at eye level for 9 of the 18 hole's. If your visiting go on a cloudy day in winter.

Super value for money course in great condition

Had played St Melyd before last year so gave it another go, doing a full 18 holes this time (it is a 9 holer with different tees for the 'back nine'). Staff were very friendly and helpful and the course was in great condition. The greens were superb - looked great and rolled brilliantly with a good pace. Green staff were out during our time cutting fairways and tees, which was good to see. Off course, there is a great clubhouse / restaurant that you can order food from as well as a hut that does snacks and drinks. Plenty of seating and some open venue named huts to sit in if you want. A nice chance to sit and have a drink and review the round. The course isn't long although quite up and down for most of the holes so provides a challenge. I was really impressed and mad sure I popped my head in to the office / shop afterwards to compliment the greens staff. Will definitely be back there as it was great value for money at a hot deal of £14.

Winter golf

Early March, not a fair thest of the course due to UK conditions, but allowing for that ,the knock was ok! I'd like to try again in June or july! Certainly I think their greenstaff will get the greens very challenging!
The clubhouse was very nice, the bar lovely, the food was very nice too. All the staff were suoer... Recommended.

Lovely course

In really good shape and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. Will definitely return. Don't succumb to nine-hole snobbery, it's a tricky and testing course that plays differently over the eighteen

Welcoming staff, lovely course

Pro and bar staff were really welcoming and helpful. Course was quite busy, but we weere not rushed nor caught in traffic. Greens excellent and fairways well kept. 9 holes with 2 sets of tees, but the tees of the back 9 are in most cases only a few yards from the front 9..
Lovely views and nicely designed holes; just the right level of challenge for me!
Only slight negative was the limited range of food in the outdoor food place; had to have a cold cornish pasty!

A Hidden Gem

Rehabilitation after major knee surgery as a golfer is a long process unless you have youth or physios in abundance on your side.
I therefore embarked on my first game back whilst at a caravan site for our spring clean of the season and decided to treat myself to 9 holes after 2 days of work to find this hidden gem of a course near Prestatyn,.
Having played most of the course in the area over the years I was pleasantly surprised at this superb venue.
Not too difficult to get round I completed my 9 holes in 1 hour 50 minutes, had a coffee at the outside bar area
then had a bite to eat inside in a lovely clubhouse.
All in all a very good text of golf-in pleasant scenic surroundings , can’t wait for my next trip

Good 9 Hole Course

Little gem, tight fairways, must be accurate. Greens weren't the best but that was down to the members not repairing pitch marks, such a shame.
Had a lovely lunch, food was excellent, Sunday Carvery, advisable to book, very popular.
Staff and club members very welcoming and friendly.

Great course and thoroughly enjoyed playing it

Great course and thoroughly enjoyed playing it , The only downside for me was that the fairways were very long but during our game the greenkeepers were out mowing the fairways we had had a lot of rain so I appreciate that mowing can only be done when the grass has dried off a bit but it was very long other than that we had a great game and thoroughly enjoyed the course I would definitely recommend this course and hopefully play it again sometime

Great course thoroughly enjoyed it

I thoroughly enjoyed playing at this course the only downside was the fact that the grass on the fairways was very long, The greenkeepers we mowing on the day we were playing cutting the fairways but I guess this has to be done when dry as there had been a lot of rain so understandably I can get why the grass was rather long other than that we had a very friendly warm welcome and the facilities within the clubhouse and outside were excellent I will definitely play again and definitely recommend to others

Worth a visit definitely

Apart from the greenkeeper driving over my friend's ball on the fairway, everything else was excellent. Very helpful and friendly staff. The course is challenging but fair and very good on the eye

Great course Tight in places

Exccelent course with some undulations
Staff in pro shop and resturant were very helpful and friendly.
Some greens had been top dressed making putting difficult but this essential work has to be carried out at some time to keep the course in top condition
Will definately come back and play again
