Wild Turkey Golf Club
About
Wild Turkey Golf Club is one of New Jersey's top public courses. It is part of the Crystal Springs Resort, which offers six other courses including the popular Ballyowen and Crystal Springs golf courses. Wild Turkey combines characteristics from both. The layout has a unique design inspired by the interesting topography, which is most aptly described as "basin and ridge." The "basin" of the course is a wide-open expanse that offers plenty of room while the holes that play along the "ridge" of the golf course tumble across a variety of elevation changes. Due to the dramatic undulations of the terrain, it's a tough golf course to walk. Wild Turkey Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 seventh. This tricky hole calls for a demanding carry over a quarry lake in order to reach the well protected green.

Great shape for this time of year... Price too high for Fall.
Bunkers very inconsistent.
Greens rolling true and fast
Way overpriced
Understood that since the pandemic, all courses have jacked up their greens fees, but 160+ for Wild Turkey is pricey. Layout is fine, conditions are decent but not at that price.
Its all about conditions
Although we were behind a league, things moved along quite well There was some odd maintenance going on the front 9. Appears they were spreading what we call "pea sized" gravel on the T boxes. Kinda stuff you find mixed with the salt on roads in the winter; 'grits" . No clue why that instead of sand. Maybe they got a deal on it. Anyway, a young fella towing piece of metal fence across the top of the T boxes was kicking up quite a dust storm as we and other fellow golfers pondered if we should have worn masks today; it was like an Arizona dust storm out there. No clue why they do this stuff when we pay to play here. And, I would not consider grounding my new $500 driver on the top of those T boxes for at least a few months until those pea size stones find a new home. So, T um up high fellas.
Very odd course management.
need a ranger. understand the course was busy that day after rain the day before but had entire hole + open in front of group in front of us and there was no ranger out to move them along. even busy course round should never exceed 4-1/2hours was nearly 5. discouraging.
Great course
Course is challenging but not overwhelming. Nice course layout, but definitely not a walking cart course.
Underwhelming for the Cost
The course was in a beautiful setting, without a doubt. A few of the tee boxes offer spectacular views of the mountains. However, for $129 (or even $75, for that matter), I expect to have sand in all the bunkers, not gravel. Some of these bunkers were awful. My playing partner even declined to hit out of a couple for fear of damaging his club. Not good.
The greens were in mediocre shape at best and were very slow for the most part. However, players have to adjust to that, so it is forgivable. The fairways are wide and forgiving for the most part, and there are many good opportunities to score if you keep it on the fairway. I played from the white tees, and it was not overly challenging.
Overall, I liked the layout and the setting, but it isn't worth $129. I'd say it would be a good value at $65 bsed on the course conditions.
Needs TLC
The greens were aerated and they didnt mention it when I made the tee time. They should either mention it or provide a discount. The course wasnt in great shape. . There was damage on a couple of the greens and large pot holes on some of the cart paths. Some of the bunkers were under construction. Not what you would expect from a high end course.
Too Much
Turkey has a forgiving layout. Conditions have really dropped off over the years. I understand that labor is difficult to find but if the conditions aren’t there your fees should drop. $12 for a hot dog?? I thought I was at Yankee stadium. Just because you can get it doesn’t mean you have to charge that much . Good Luck!
Pleasant and fun course
Fu.Fun. Fun !!!
It always makes me feel calm and exciting as well.
Nice lay out with some challenges with the beautiful sighting.
Loved playing the course!!
Fun Course!
I played on a very cold day, but enjoyed the design of the course. It was relatively wide open with a few blind shots, but mostly accommodating. It is pricey, but besides that it is a fun track!
No reason for cart-path only
I've played this course dozens of times and usually enjoy.
Their cart-path only restriction is Totally uncalled for and takes away from a fluid round especially under Driest Course conditions.
Entire staff is friendly, but management needs to extend in a much better way to golfers and pace of play to enrich total experience to leave a desire for repeat play.
Also played Ballyowen the week prior after frost delay and found so many fairways to be in perfectly fine condition to drive on, but they too were cart-path only.
Let them get someone out there to inspect conditions and re-evaluate any restrictions.
