DO NOT PLAY
The worst condition I've ever played. dirt fairways sand traps very poor holes in the greens
Rainbow Springs
Nice layout for holes but fairways and greens need a lot of work - place looks old and needs a ton of TLC.
This Course is not what it used to be
This was a good course at one time, layout is good ,but they are letting it go really rough now. haven't play there for a couple of years went back this weekend to play, not good any more.
Rainbow Springs review
Course was in good condition with a few greens in need of repair. The layout is somewhat challenging, but fair. Fairways are wide, & the greens are undulating & fast. I would play there again.
This course is in a bad cndition
The course is in a bad condition, and we paid much money for a small bucket of ranchballs.
We don't come back toplay this course again.
This course is closing Dec. 31 2014
It is a shame this course is closing; it is an older course rambling through 100 year old Live Oak trees
with reasonable elevation changes, raised greens with
good green side bunkering and various left and right doglegs. We can only hope it will reopen in the near future.
Course Conditiond
Fairways need maintenance. Greens need maintenance . Some greens had sand on top as if it was trap. Traps not maintained.. Would not pay to play this votes again
rainbow springs
some putting greens need work, and a lot of tee boxes were in poor shape. The fairway were for the most part in good shape. For the value I would play there again. I had a golf now reward and the wife and I only paid $10.00 for 18 holes of golf and had some fun.
Lost the smile
I thought it would be nice to play another great golf coarse..what a let down, nice layout but such poor condition to tee boxes or ( weed boxes )... Lot of weeds in what could be fairways and ruff.lots of damage on greens..why waste time here with other choices, one three miles away, another ten minutes away..will not be back even if it was free..
Poor condition
Course is very poor shape..greens and fairways are sparse with grass. Course is poorly maintained and appears that maintenance has ceased to be accomplished.
Nice layout, but way over priced.
Course could be excellent. Two or three greens had dead spots
on them, along with a couple bad fairways.
No water but lots of sand
Good course, greens were nice. Not crowded at all when we played. Friendly staff. Some of the fairways are pretty tight so straight tee shots are a must for a good score.
A nice layout and a fair test of golf for all abilities.
We played this course on a Friday. The greens were in great condition and incredibly fast. The restaurant does not serve breakfast, but the outdoor grill serves burgers and hot dogs from 11am - which were excellent if you have time to wait before your tee-time. Our second visit to this course - the condition of which has improved considerably from last year.
course is long and challenging
greens are very good...fairways have short grass but are mostly in good condition even though there was heavy rain several days ago...rough is tough with gnarly grass....
Tight Lies...
Older course with very, very limited amounts of grass in fairways and rough. Every shot necessitated precise ball-first contact to generate a quality shot. With limited grass, ball striking was at a premium and chipping even more difficult. A flop shot was nearly impossible except for the exceptionally skilled player.
Greens were extremely fast and in some cases, green slope made it nearly impossible to lag a putt. Some greens were at Augusta-like speed. Full price would have been very disappointing!
Given the mid-March timeframe, grass may become more plentiful in a month or so, don't know.
Was enjoyable round except for the watering.
I was glad that I did not pay anymore than I did. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Was disappointed that the course started watering at 3:30 while I was completing my round with a tee time of 1:07.
Greens tricky, well protected by bunkers and fast. challenging layout
All fairways tree-lined on both sides but with good width. Each hole had it's own location. No side by side fairways here. Greens were the most fun. Undulations, uphill, downhill, fast and in good condition. The tee box areas on almost all holes were barren and the fairways were rough in many spots, especially the front nine. Despite the rough conditions in the above mentioned areas we would definitely go back especially with the great price we got through Golfnow which was 50% off the regular rate.
Challenging Greens
Nice course but greens can be lightning fast with lots of contour it takes a few rounds to learn how much they break. No water hazards on course and for the most part fairly generous fairways. A couple tight holes but nothing horrible. as with most neighborhood courses no cart girl so either purchase at the pro shop or bring your own. Overall I had a fun day and will go back but only for the golfnow deals. Regular price would be a tad high.
Secluded Treasure
This one is a little off the beaten path but worth the trip. The course condition was very good. Fairways and greens were green and well maintained. We really enjoyed the elevation changes and turns which required some shot planning. I would love to play it again and will at some future date. It is in a beautiful setting with lots of lovely natural features all around it. Check out Rainbow Springs State Park while you are there. It is a natural wonder, too.
