fun to play
good price because of green air ration but was still able to enjoy the day with out perfict conditions.
Best public east end Inks Course on Long Island
There are a solid 20 courses in Suffolk County that we can choose to play at. This is one of my favorite.
As soon as you pull onto the property you know you are somewhere special.
There is always someone to greet you at the bag drop off.
The pro shop personnel are always helpful.
The Course is just over 6000 yards from the tips. The course difficulty is due to the small greens which are always running fast. The wind in the fall also makes the course more challenging.
The course is a very pretty track.
I recommend stopping at the 19th hole and relax outside on one of the Adirondack chairs that overlooks the 9th hole.
Play the wind
Great course in great shape. Its all about the wind.
My Current Favorite Course
Only the second time I've played here since moving to a house in Olde Vine October, 2016, as it's pricey for me as a retiree. The area is kind of a mecca for golf courses, and each one course has a character of its own, but The VIneyards is by far the most interesting course--after just two times playing it (and I did not play well either time) it's the most fun of all the local courses and my favorite one to play. I like that it's short enough one doesn't have to crush the ball on just about every hole; but I appreciate that it's so well-trapped that it's not an easy course. I just wish it wasn't so pricey, so that I could play it more than once a year.
Challenging track
Like the country club feel; staff is very cordial and attentive; bar area and food were excellent. Enjoyed the day there, makes you play position golf. Worth the drive.
Only wish there was a driving range
Love it
Love this course. Even though they aerated the day before they were still fast
Short course with lots of bunkers and wild grass that make it challenging.
Beautiful course
Can't wait to play there again
Links Golf
Course was in great shape. Challenging track with tight fairways and fescue. The greens were in pristine condition and provided a true roll. Overall, great experience. Round took just under 4 hours.
The course is great, the staff need to be a little nicer with the non-members.
Great and Uncrowded
Semi-private course in excellent condition. Not a long course but fescue and green undulation make it a nice challenge. It's low key, people are super nice. It's like a well-kept secret. Highly recommend.
True links style course
A true links style course risk-reward small greens hard as Stone lightning fast a real challenge of a course beautiful condition definitely a do-over
The course is a nice track to play on. Visually appealing but not overly difficult. It can get challenging if the wind is up. The course is not terribly long which plays well for your average golfer. The greens were rolling true and were fast which was a nice pace compared to the slower greens located next door at Cherry Creek. No driving range for guests. Staff was friendly.
Solid links style track with great conditions
Got the chance to play this track on a beautiful Sunday. Playing as a twosome, we finished our round in 3 hours 40 minutes without playing speed golf. Staff from the bag drop, starter, beverage cart were all super friendly and helpful.
Not a long track but still presents challenges. With the wind, the moderately narrow fairways and fescue comes into factor. Greens roll pretty well and are quicker than most public courses. Local knowledge definitely helps on where to land approach shots because three putting is easy when putting above holes.
Course conditions were great. Only factor like many other courses were players not fixing fairway digits (landed in a few) and ball marks on greens.
A gem of a course !
Fairways and greens were in great shape with some challenging risk/reward type holes. With the exception of some pricey and extremely dry turkey sandwiches that were delivered on the 13th hole, everything was fine.. We'll eat bigger breakfast next time but will definitely be back.
A links gem
Ok to get this out there the course is not long. That said it is a gem.
Lots of character, great greens, the wind, extensive bunkering and the high fescue are the real challenges that face golfers.
Conditions were exceptional and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I will be back and if you want to try out a links style course i recommend you give the Vineyards a try.
Great Links tyoe course
Always a pleasure playing this course. Great layout, beautiful to look at the at. Always a challenge. Staff is great. All around great experience.
