45 minutes late on out start followed by waiting on every tee. Greens were horrible and tee boxes only slightly better. What happened to this course since last season? Get to work grounds crew!
Too many par 3’s
Course is in good shape except the greens which are in terrible shape. Fairways, tee boxes and aprons
And some sand traps are well groomed. Fix the greens and install a chipping area because there is no driving rande but this would help with warm ups. Also too many par 3’s limit the value of this course.
First time at this course and I love it. Despert to go back for another round.
Love this course . Dieting go back to play this wonderful course.
Good, Manageable Course
Douglaston is a fun course with an interesting mix of hole layouts. It is a good course to play, not long so it manageable and in very good shape.
Everything was good except the greens.
The course was in great shape. The greens were kinda beat up. I'd blame 3 things for this. 1. It was recently aerated and is about a week away from being fully recovered. 2. They should have been blown clean and rolled. 3. Too many players not fixing their divots. When you ball hits the green you need to have courtesy and repair that indentation. Outside of that the course was in good shape.
This course is very short with 6 par 3’s.
The first 4 holes are beautiful and the last hole is an excellent.. The greens in many cases were in terrible shape with cuts, slits and no or minimal gas. The fairways were pretty good but the tee boxes especially on pars were strewn with divots and holes in the tee boxes.
Best Course in Queens
I’ve played this course 15+ times over the past 2.5 years since it is down the block from my house. If it was not walking distance from me I would probably only play it if I was desperate. It is the best course in Queens however (not saying much). It is good if you live in the area looking to play a last minute round. If you play on Fri /sat/sun with nice weather it will be a 5+ hour round. During the summer the conditions are pretty decent. Tee boxes are always maintained and bunkers are well kept. Overall I wouldn’t pay more than 40$ to play here.
Some excellent par three
The pro shop personnel was not very friendly although I had a tee time, had to wait to be put aln a later foursome
They booked an outing in front of other people’s tee times.
This place is absolute trash. It’s a beautiful Monday afternoon so I figured I would play some golf with my brother. We had a 1052 tee time, I get to the pro shop about 45-50 mins before our tee time to check in and pay. The guy at the counter told me not to pay there’s going to be a slight delay, ok that’s fine I’ll grab a beer and watch some tv. Now I come to find out that they booked an outing with hundreds of people in the morning before everyone else’s tee time so we had to wait for everyone to go out. So this trash place just tried to squeeze as many people onto the course after the outing, that is some pretty shady behavior. Then we finally get out, more than an hour past our tee time and the pace of play is insanely slow, where is the ranger? Sitting up at the clubhouse doing nothing. I wouldn’t wish this course on my worst enemy. I will never return here even if it was the last course on Long Island.
