“Douggy” as I aptly call it, is a great course—short, but sweet, yet challenging to some degree. As a 16-handicap golfer, I truly enjoy the layout. It’s a bit of a trek via car from upper east side Manhattan, but it’s worth it. Staff can be a little more friendlier, and the snack bar can have a bit more variety, but overall, if you’re just playing a good round by yourself or with your friends, it’s a great course!

no four round here so don't book after one if you want to finish. nice place but waiting to tee off on every hole is horrible when you see them betting. Got 13 in before I gave up.

The course gets a lot of use, yet it holds up well. As a muni, you can't expect perfect conditions, but the course seems to be taken care of pretty well. The layout is challenging, with 8 holes having blind shots and some severe slopes. Not a long course, but precision is key. Enjoyable.

Played on a perfect Sunday at noon. Took 4.5 hours, which isn't bad at all for a public NYC course. Greens and fairways were very good, tee boxes just ok. Par is 67 and it's a short course but not super easy. Would play again.

I played here in the past, but this was by far the worst. They did have event on a Saturday, but worst part was that there was no ranger to really organize the pace of play for all players. I think the starter said best when a person asked how long is the delay - " your guess is good as mine"

I've played most of the public courses in NYC and this is by far the best kept. Most of the greens are in good shape. Pace of play is slow, but that goes for all the public city courses. Would recommend this course above the other options.

The wait on this course was more than terrible. It's a short course with a ton of par 3's. they should not be sending people out as often as they should. It's a tough course despite the length but when you're two groups deep on every tee box, you need to rethink your strategy.

My buddy and I are beginners. We played Douglaston for the first time this past Friday, and we had a great time. The course layout and conditions of the fairways and greens were excellent ( for a public NYC course that gets a ton of traffic ). One two pair played through us, saying our pace was too slow, but we finished all 18, with four players, in four hours. Our tee time was at 1:30pm on a Friday. Again, we are beginners, so we each took a lot of shots, but I've read about others playing 18 on a public course in over four hours.

Good course but the so-called specials and differential prices between seniors and non-seniors is ridiculous. The nickel and diming for parking is also aggravating. Good course but typical New York over pricing.

I arriving at the parking lot, there is a $3 fee.

The check in desk, is very minimal. I met a Man named Larry, who requested my driver license. So I would not bring the cart down to a fence , by the parking lot, after I completed my game. All while they have a cart attendant, looking after the carts.

After my round, I brought the cart to the attendant and off I when to my truck. ( forgetting my drivers License ) not realizing it, until I got home. ( 11 miles away )

It took me one hour, gas and inconvenience

( traffic) the next day, for such a RIDICULOUS POLICY, to retrieve my License, which was not posted anywhere. I am quite familiar with the etiquette of Golf ( which is hard to find here in NY, especially on public courses ) and the club house, after spending my teenage years caddying and playing in Ireland in a private club.

Please, have your attendant look after the carts or employ other person to help him. ( Stop with taking Licenses, it makes no since )

The course has a handful of decent, interesting holes, particularly on the back-9, but it just doesn't flow well. Too many holes feel like they just placed a tee and green with no thought as to how the hole plays or how to best route through the elevations. The routing is confusing as it it easy to get lost not knowing where the next hole is. It's also a short course with a large number of par-3s. It's too bad as the property had potential and there are a few cool holes, but overall the course is a letdown.
