Good Course for the money
I played 18 holes on 2/18/18 {9 holes twice}. I only put the date so you know that this is obviously not the best time of year to play golf. All things considered this was a great course . The guy at the counter was extremely friendly and the whole place had a very laid back feel to it so I felt at home right away. Greens were sandy and fast but like i said it was February. I would like to play it again in summer.
Pasture golf
Stoney Creek is a very laid back executive course that allows the average golfer to "work" on their game. There is plenty of opprotunity to pitch and chip, and the greens are fair. The course was in great shape for the Colorado winter. I wish they would cut two to three hole per green so that you could rotate the flags and minimize the wear at the hole. The course is tight, and easily walked, even by an old man. You won't find a lot of "fancy" golfers here, but you also aren't paying top dollar rates, so you can feel great about the value you are getting for your money. Probably not the course that you want to take your brother-in-law to that is visiting from out of state. But a great place if you just want to walk, and work on your game and don't feel like you've lost your kids college fund.
I like it a lot!
Good not good
Course wasn’t too bad. Fun course. When starting the back 9 an employee who wasn’t there there at the start of the day (a female employee) came to us after teeing off on 1st hole (back 9) and yelled at us for driving our cart on the grass when there was no signs explaining to stay on the cart path the whole time. As saying that most wholes did not have cart paths. Also there was at least 20 other cart tracks. No one told us to keep carts on any paths. Most of the Tee boxes where closed and not in terrible condition. To add on, there was two kids golfing without shirts on in front of us and we get yelled at for not staying on the “cart paths” . The girl also rides up while a friend of mine is in the middle of his swing and was completely unprofessional in the way she handled it. They stacked tee times so we had people on our backs the whole time, which happens I get that, but to get yelled at for the cart situation on top of that was ridiculous. Enjoyed the course but will never come back simply due to that employees actions. The gentleman at the front desk was great and courteous Go Blue!

Good for a practice round
This is an ideal course for iron play and short game. Although the greens are hard to read and seem inconsistent with speed, but that’s golf for you.
Fun Place to Sharpen Your Skills
The Stoney Creek is an executive 9-hole course with many challenging hazards. You could loose the golf balls for 7 of 9 holes. It's an ideal place to sharpen your skills.

Good short game practice
Great spot to sharpen your short game..greens faster than they appear….a little inconsistency on speeds from green to green, but the layout was challenging and it made you think….too far for me to play regularly but I’d still recommend it.

Great for what it is
Stoney is by no means Augusta, but it’s usually not too crowded, it feels like you’re far from the city, and some of the holes are decently challenging. If I can get a Golfnow deal, I’d much rather loop Stoney than go to the range. It’s a great place to practice your short and mid range game. The conditions are variable and the greens sometimes are a little rough, and it’s also often windy as heck out there, but I think it’s a fine little exec par 3.

Open for Business
With all the snow in Colorado this winter, Stoney Creek was open for business, one of very few. The course was very playable, with dormant grass in all areas. Great weather day with temperatures in the sixties. Staff is always friendly! Good course for a quick round of 18.
