A truly unique course
From the start, you work your way out to sea and play along the cliff tops on what is predominantly heathland terrain. The tee of the par 3, 5th at the furthest extremity of the course is quite literally perched on top of the rocks with the Irish Sea crashing in to the coves beneath.
The back 8 of the old course is where this course has made its name where a collection of holes have somehow been carefully tailored to fit on their own peninsula. The 13th is the pick of the bunch, a 435 yard par 4 dogleg with a drive that carries over the sea. It is tempting to bite off a large chunk to leave yourself with an easy approach, but with the inevitable sea breeze it is a difficult shot to judge. If you get a chance pop down the coastal path to the Ty Coch Inn, not quite the halfway house, but it you need a bit of Dutch courage before you tackle the tip of the peninsula, this is the place to find it.
Golf
Fantastic course and facilities. The staff were brilliant, highly recommended.
Beautiful course
What a place! The staff are super friendly and the course is in very good condition but the views are breathtaking. Will be back in April to play the short 9
Best on the Lynn Peninsula
Fantastic condition for the time of year. The first 9 and the point are the best combination. Views are spectacular. Made to feel very welcome.
The Best Golf
Breathtaking even on such a windy day.
If you could mould together the best of Turnberry-Crail and Anstruther this place would beat the lot for outstanding views and holes.all for a great green fee.If i had to tell anyone to play a golf course before they die this would be it,
Good game in very bad weather
Thanks to the proshop who let me start an hour early as the weather forecast was very poor. Started off in very windy, but dry conditions. Played the front 9 holes. Course was wet because of heavy rainfall for a week, but still very playable. Greens were in good condition and running true. Played 9 holes and then the wind increased and rain lashed down horizontally. I decided to stop after the 9 holes as the bad weather looked set in. But very much enjoyed the holes I did play.
Nefyn
Great course, very enjoyable - highly recommended. Will return
Nefyn rewards.
Our visit to Nefyn coincided with the heaviest rainfall of the year, and having been soaked to our very bones, we had to concede defeat before even completing the first nine. However, the pro was very accommodating and allowed us to try again the following day (Saturday), when we were reminded exactly why it is worth all the effort. The views are breath-taking, the challenges unique, and the beer at the Ty Coch Inn never misses the spot. Superb.
Absolutely stunning
We played the championship 18 holes on Tuesday 12th in blowy conditions which just added to the enjoyment as it made it more interesting. The course was in absolutely perfect condition from tee to green. We enjoyed it so much we returned on Thursday 14th and chose to play the front 10 of the championship course then the 9 peninsula holes in still conditions. Wow what a course and the club shop staff were so friendly I can’t recommend this place enough. Definitely one of my favourite courses ever. 10/10
Bang For Buck “Off The Charts”
Could you play a better course? “Not at this price”
I played Nefyn 20 years ago and fell in love with it, 20 years on, I’ve fallen head over heels once again.
On my first visit, I played The Point which is a must for anyone visiting at some stage of their life. It is a bit quirky, but this only adds to the drama of this spectacular piece of land/sea.
This time The Point was extremely busy, so played 18 holes of the Championship Course. The vistas are not as aesthetically pleasing but you can still see the sea from every hole. The newer back nine is a more conventional layout and is excellent in its own right.
The condition of the course on my visit (August 2023) was exemplary.
Tees (perfect), fairways (perfect), rough (not overly penal), greens (perfect)
The greens are relatively quick and true. I have to congratulate the greens staff on their hard work, skill, and attention to detail they put in to make this place what it is.
I’ve played over 10 courses up and down the UK over the last 5 weeks and this blows them all away and then some.
Although I live in Wales, this unfortunately is over 4 hours drive away, so not somewhere I can just pop to for a quick round. I am extremely jealous of the members here and people who can access it relatively easily. I would become a member in a heartbeat.
If Wales was better known for its golf, you’d probably struggle to get on this course.
This is the perfect place for a special full day of golf. Play all 27 holes with a visit to the Ty Coch Inn and the clubhouse for refreshments and go home with a great big smile on your face. Only downside is, Nefyn will be in your rear view mirror.
Break in the weather
Super afternoon round. After so much wet weather the course was very green but the greens were quick and true. Fabulous setting and course layout. Quite forgiving off some of the tees, but a really good challenge for golfers of all standards
Stunning Course
Wow, this should be on everyone's bucket list. Great course, great greens, fabulous clubhouse. Highly recommended.
There are a few blind holes but trust the markers they are well laid out.
PLEASE NOTE- "THE POINT" is not open at weekends or in School holidays until 5pm this is for safety reasons but is a bit of a let down as you cannot find this out anywhere as far as I could see until you arrive.
Saying that the championship course was great.
Great Little Gem
Stunning day, stunning course.
Food was great afterwards also.
Disappointed
We were so disappointed as the freak hot weather meant there was a very thick mist . We had to abandon our round as it wasn’t safe … couldn’t see where we were going. So we didn’t see any of the wonderful views or play the 9 hole point course. We had travelled quite a distance also so such a shame not to appreciate what Nefyn has to offer .
Stunning views
One for the bucket list. Played the 9h then a quick beer and sandwich at the pub at the beach. Then the 18 though not as pretty still decent.. Then another beer and soak those feet in the sea at the pub again. Perfect weather. Great day.
Brilliant day
27 holes in shocking weather but never stopped smiling all day.
Can't wait to play this course when the weather is more forgiving.
The staff were so accomodating and helped make the day a memorable one.
Outstanding Views
The first tee is amazing !!
The course was in beautiful condition , lovely greens.
Superb scenery …. Every tee has a view of the sea.
27 hole course (18 championship plus the back 9 optional famous ‘point’).
Car park facilities are spot on. As is the club house.
Food of a very high standard.
Would definitely recommend this golf course …. 🌟
Windy
This course is the most challenging I've played especially with the wind being at49mph, layout is fantastic course conditions considering all the rain was basically dry ground staff take a bow👍👍,the whole experience 1st class highly recommended
