Lovely course
Stunning course. Played on a boiling hot afternoon, had a buggy, potentially would’ve struggled walking due to the heat.
Fairway and rough conditions very good. Greens a bit slow but ran true. Enjoyable day and course for sure
Great course but…
The course and facilities were as great as always, the driving range balls need to be better though as not a fair representation of the resorts quality. It rained for 4 hours off our round but aside from the odd puddle the course stayed in brilliant shape.
The only downside was the speed of play, the round took just over 5 hours! Marshals should be out and on this during busy periods.
National course
Great day out and outstanding course, will definitely be back
Stunning course / poor greens
This is a really pretty golf course. Great length, rewarding big drives. It has an interesting layout, in well established parklands. with plenty of water to keep players on their toes. Sadly on the day of our visit, a Saturday in mid May, the greens were slow and bobbly. Not what I expected at all. If fact it looked they hadn't been mown for 48 hours - but I might be wrong. Glorious day for golf on an almost empty course - we tee'd off at 4pm. Would go back, but not worth the full fee.
Great Course
This is an extremely long course which we walked. Played in a 3 ball and each member pretty exhausted by the middle of the back nine, as it was a very hot day.
The condition of this course is up there with the best I've ever played. The greens were in perfect condition.
One thing to point out. There are no yardage markers anywhere and a number of the approach shots are blind which made it very difficult. Some kind of yardage book will be required for my next visit.

Great course it will trip you up at any point if your not on your game , great staff very friendly very helpful very nice club for drink and food afterwards 5*
Vale golf
Played the National course today EXCELLENT CONDITION throughout ,green and fairways were amazing
Good venue for a golfing day out
Enjoyed a lovely game of golf. Only negative was the amount of pitchmarks not repaired. Spent half my round repairing pitchmarks of other people lol. But lovely flat course with great facilities
Serious golf course
Really impressed with the Wales National - great condition, interesting layout throughout, and a real test of your game. It’s very long and the large amount of doglegs mean if you don’t hit the right landing zones it plays even longer! The back 9 is the star with a cracking run of holes from 10-16. Although it does seem to have a drainage problem the overall condition of the course and greens were excellent.
In the current climate of green fees at ‘high quality’ courses I’d say anything around £25-50 depending on time/day is excellent value.
18 temp greens with no frost
There was no frost at all on the course and on 18 temp greens in stupid places on the fairway. Ruined a round i was excited to play as it was my friends first time there. Should of been on the advert before booking. Not told on the day of the event that its temp greens just before ur leaving to go and play.
Late November Golf at the National
Thoroughly enjoyed this testing challenge!
Championship course!! Indeed it was and played like it to.
I knew it was long and played every inch of it's yardage. There's very little run and it can take 3 good blows to be close to the greens on the par 5's.
The greens were in amazing condition and there are some stunning holes to play. However unless you're a lowish handicapper I would have to recommend elsewhere at this time of year. The fairways for me were cut way too short. Everything looked like a tight lie but it played heavy. The first cut of rough is about 4" long and with the leaves on them and some fairways, makes it impossible to find balls, of any colour. Frustrating for me and my playing partner and added an extra hour to the round.
The driving range could do with and upgrade. Old mats, very few tees, balls that have seen better years.
It's a course to be played again that's for sure but not at this time of year if the fairways are going to be shaved to championship setting.
