Not Personable for Beginners
Got to the golf course and at first everything was was okay. However, we got to our third hole, and were asked to come back to the pro shop to figure this out. (Apparently we were taking too long, and we were all beginners, as in first time solo, even though nobody was behind us). However, we only got three holes in while trying to play 18. Not even an hour and the experience was unpleasant. They claim they couldn't give refunds, although I would have been okay with even being charged for just the 3 holes, but no. Such a waste of money! I'm never going back, even after he gave me a rain check. My brother is also from out of town, so this wasn't even really that feasible. Anyone want a free 18 holes? Just make sure you're not beginners other wise this place will treat you like a sand pit.
Great value for Local Track
Great little local track, had a hot deal - so value was outstanding. good layout, fun, well-paced course.
Good experience
The course was hosting a tournament but made every effort to accommodate other guests. While some aspects of the course were "well used" overall a very good golf experience and we appreciated the afternoon.
Nice layout
Short course the par 3s are hard
Great value
Fun round. Twosome played in 3 1/2 hours. Nice layout.course was in decent shape. Booked a "hot deal" so outstanding value.
Ever improving
Fun course than continues to improve every year. In good shape. A good value for your dollar. Challenging par 3's. Here's a tip keep your cart ahead of the other in your foursome, paths are dusty.
Fun course
This course is amazing value. Staff were friendly. The layout is fun. Some interesting holes. Some elevation changes and nice scenery. Course was enjoyable. It needs a bit of TLC in places, club house was a bit dated, but had everything you need. For the price, you can't beat this place and I would definatley play here again. Looking forward to playing the newer 9 holes across the street.
Enjoyable
My brother and I are just average golfers so the course was thankfully forgiving yet had some excellent challenges. We will definitely return, the staff was above and beyond, no excessive rules or marshals harassing you. Enjoyed every minute especially several of the elevated tees. The course and clubhouse could use some renovations but the core of why we golf was still intact. Great day on the links
Call first
I actually played the day after my golfnow tee time. I was told that I should have called first to make sure the tee time that I had booked at 11:30 pm the night before was available. What?
So I drove 40 minutes to learn this. They did accommodate me the following day. That was another 1hour and 20minute round trip.
After playing the back nine first in 39. The club pro Bob caught me at the turn, told me he was a great coach for beginners and intermediate players, and that he could help me. Wait, 39 with a lost ball? Am I a beginner or an intermediate player? This man has huge standards.
Great facility. Shorter and narrow. New grounds keeper is given credit for its rejuvenation. Greens are fabulous.
This course is easy to get to
The course has its own set of challenges. My wife and I enjoyed the astethics of the course as well as playing golf. We recommend that other couples play it.
Long and tough course
It was a blast to play. Got a hot deal at 13 bucks, probably not worth much more but nice experience.
Hidden Gem for lower handicap golfers
Loved it - very different from the other two 9's.
From the Blue tees, a true challenge but fair.
So much character - with a less harsh winter, this 9 has the potential to be as plush as any private country club.
The distance (even from the whites) represents a tall challenge - so I would not recommend this 9 for high handicap golfers or anyone who hits drives consistently less than 240 (or seniors maybe 200)
Greens remind me of a Jack Nicklaus design in Syracuse called Timber Banks (undulating, firm, and fast)
The Par 6 is really a lot of fun to try reaching the green in 3!
great course
The course was in great shape and was well maintained.
played the roc then front 9
The roc: very long 9 holes even a par 6, this is a never before seen for me, this course is very open. There is not much to look at on the roc, come to think of it no rocks at all. The roc reminded me of a western course. The front 9 is very close if you have a hook or slice you must yell "FORE" that is why I made it four rated course. The scenery here is good but a lot to be desired. The manacure is very good with semi-hard fast greens. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. They even offer on site delivery. I guess to sum it up the course layout is close, just like the staff they like to treat you like family.
Great budget couese
Very nice course. However they need to work on making more cart paths. Overall it is a very nice course with so many interesting holes.
