shame on me
I booked the course based on price, $15 for 18 before reading the reviews. Even after reading the reviews I thought it could not be this bad. IT WAS!!! Greens were absolutely horrible. The ball bounced more than on a basketball court!! All I can fairly say is if you are a serious golfer don't go!!!
Didn't cost much, but wasn't worth much
I could understand that families or groups of friends come here for their first try-out of golf, but real golfers, stay out.
Absolutely the worse course
Only the back nine was open, front nine greens under repair? The Course has only 12 golf carts and we waited 40 minutes past our tee time to get a cart. The greens were rougher than any fairway could ever be, no roll, just a lot of bounce. The absolute worst course I've ever played, which by the way was the the same words expressed by the twosome in front of us. Never again!
Don't go there
We had to play the second part (10-18) twice because they are seeding the first part apparently. We never saw a golf course in so bad shape. We saw people leaving after their first part, frustrated. In our case, the price was really cheap, by chance. Don't recommend to anyone.
cow pasture
Worst course ever. Would not put this in the same class as a cow pasture. Cow pasture would be in better shape.
Not golf as I know it!
I am always trying to be honest and fair in my opinions
I certainly don't want to hinder any business unfairly.
I also don't want to send my fellow golfer to a place
I would not return. The layout was cramped (I could deal with most of that) the greens were untouched for
I don't know how long but really couldn't putt on them
with ANY possible accuracy. I know of no other golf course I would rather NOT play. Sorry, but the truth!
Should be close
Absolutely horrible. To be a shame. The greens are like an unpaved road.Shoud close for repair.Played twice back nine .Was embarrass to bring friends. Will never come back and friends too.
Disaster
Course is in horrible condition...!!!!! I tis not for playing golf but for adventure football ... not greens ...
not good right now
Only 9 holes were in operation...seriously awful conditions. If it were kept up at all, it might be worth it. I didnt even see one worker at all. Everything was just way out dated. There are way too many descent courses out there to waste your time and money with this one.
You get what you pay for
We figured how bad can it be? We got what we paid for. My friend and I were the only ones on the course that day. We thought it would be fun to play all day but it got a little boring. Only 9 holes were open so by the third time around we had had enough. The greens were pretty bad and messed us up for the next day when we played a real golf course. If you just want to play a practice round or three it's fine if you don't take the course seriously. It's obvious that the owners don't.
Don't go here
total joke, this course is obviously in bankruptcy, and i"m insulted they charge to play, you can't even putt, the greens are in worse condition that the tee off at a public golf range
riverbend
The course was in really rough shape with front nine being closed for maintenance. Nice layout with potential with some care. Staff was friendly and the 19th was by far the best hole.
Worst case in golf where ever it was
We want to Play this course and they can not find a car. They Need 15 min. to gave a car. Terrible car it was, very dirty and maggie too.. Than they send us to the back nine. The front nine are closed. We pay for 18 holes, so we can Play twice the Bach nine. Th tee box at 10 was grased with over 4 Inch high gras, you must look for a lokal, where you can tee up. The gras in the fairway was minimum 5 Inch high. On the green the gras was 2-3 Inch high, that the ball stops when he was rolling for 10 -20 inches. Putting was not possible, we chiped over the whole Greens. On all other fairways, tee-boxes and Greens was not cut the grases in the last 2 weeks. It was horrible to Play. We never played so a course before. This was the worst case in golf in my live. i Play the last 11 years more than 2500 times golf on my be more than 130 different courses in Florida and more than 150 different courses in europe - asia -africa - and some where too. I have never seen so a bad course. But anyway, dont send other Players to this couse, the Money you spend is better for drinking a beer.
Not worth playing
Course could use much more attention. Greens are no Greens at all ... Its more like you're playing rough :-( very poor ...
Omg
You get what you pay for, I guess. Front 9 was close, sprinklers on at 16 had to skip. The flags were lying down on 4 of the holes. I've never scene putting greens this rough and with weeds. Clubhouse could use a facelift inside. I would play again just to see what the front 9 looks like, for that price.
Shouldn't even be open!
The only thing good I can say is that the staff is super nice. The course is terrible. What a waste of money. Front nine was not even playable and back nine was not much better. Will never play here again.
Joke
This course was a joke, a cow pasture if you will! It appeared as if they don't care for the course all week and use side workers on the weekend! The greens were so over grown you really couldn't put. The flag poles didn't even fit the cups! My group left after the 13 hole just cause the course was so ridiculous it wasn't worth continuing! The golfnow price was good so I booked it for my group! What an embarrassment! It was like when your a kid and make a golf hole in a field!
Pick your own Cart out of the Barn? Good Luck!
Cheap to play for a reason. We checked in and there weren't any carts left out, so the woman who checked us in, said, "Oh, just grab a cart out of the barn". This was unusual but not a problem for someone who use to work in a cart barn, Except that there were 7 carts left, 3 wouldn't start, the other 3 had flat tires, and the other cart made a clicking noise while driving. Needless to say we were stuck with the clicking cart. The course is just a little bit above a backyard full of weeds. No visible fairways. And then there were the greens. Of the greens that looked nice and green, I would have had a better time putting on thick soft carpet in my own house. The greens are long and honestly wouldn't be terrible if they had been rolled sometime in the past year, but instead they are by far the slowest greens I have ever seen. I doubt they even know what a stimp meter is. All in all if they had someone to manage the golf shop and the maintenance they could have a nice Par 3 ,but right now it's more like a 3100 yard Putt Putt track, that you can't putt on.
Worst Greens I've Ever Seen
I hate to have to say it, but the other recent reviews you will read here are 100% accurate. I hesitated to play the course after reading those reviews, but a friend wanted to go because he had played here years ago and it was his treat. The greens were just as described in the other reviews you will read here: some had weeds, dead spots and even a divot/rut, and the ones that were green were cut so high that it was like putting on fairway grass. "Slow" is too liberal to describe the speed. Is there such as a thing as a negative reading on a Stimp meter? It's a shame, because the course is in a nice setting with beautiful trees, small lakes and pretty birds. I don't know what issues the course has had or faced, but it is not in good shape. However I can't understand why many of the fairways weren't mowed and why the greens that have grass weren't cut to a normal length. As someone else said, if you want to practice approach shots with your irons and you get an inexpensive price to play the course, the course is not crowded (in the off season at least). We didn't see anyone else and played the front 9 in 75 minutes. But if you are looking for a complete golf experience, the greens will leave you terribly disappointed.
Wow, front nine was close yesterday too. Only good part was the cheap cold drafts.
