Raven's Claw Golf Club
About
Located in Limerick Township, Raven's Claw Golf Club is one of southeastern Pennsylvania's best golf and residential communities. It consistently ranks as one of the state's top 10. Carved from rolling hills and mature woodlands, the layout features a variety of different holes. No two holes are alike but they require some creative shot-making abilities. With tight fairways and undulating greens bordered by mounds of rough, the golf course also demands accuracy. The design incorporates links-style elements that present a formidable test. The golf course is undoubtedly challenging but there are also recovery opportunities on each hole, which makes it less daunting for beginners. One of Raven's Claw Golf Club's most memorable holes is the tricky penultimate hole. This unforgiving par-3 has a double-tiered, undulating green with no bailout areas to the left or right. Golfers that hit it short will face a blind second shot.

Bad Experience
Love Raven's Claw and hadn't played it in a few years so I was looking forward to playing it on July 3, 2017. When my friend called to make the tee time he asked the girl if the Victory Golf Passbook Sr rate of $30 was good for that day and she said yes. He asked a second time knowing that the next day would be the 4th of July holiday and she assured him the $30 rate was still good. When we were ready to check in with the guy at the Pro Shop another gentleman walked behind the counter and seeing the book in our hands informed us that this was a holiday weekend, being that the 4th was the next day. We informed him that the girl who took the tee time said the $30 rate would be good, he said no, the best he could do was $59 that day. I showed him the Victory book which stated "Valid all Holidays and Holiday Weekends" and he just turned away and said $59!! We left and played another course due to them not honoring the book. I could see if was like other courses which state their rates are not good on holidays, but Raven's Claw specifically states it's good on holidays It'll take me awhile to go back there after that, but I do love the course. One uppity employee who doesn't adhere to their stated policy can ruin your day! He wasn't apologetic at all either!
Very nice course
This course has a very nice layout and great variety of holes. Fairways and greens are in very good condition.
Good track
The course was in great shape and it's a decent challenge. Paid $40 on a hot deal which was great. The only complaint I have is they let us go out as a twosome, a twosome in front and then let a single, playing 2 balls, off behind us. That kind of messed up pace of pla, the guy was hitting up on us all day and there was no good reason for it.
No marshall, no starter, crazy slow!
Great rate on a weekday lured us in! It wasn't worth it - there were numerous holes where 3 groups waited to tee off (very slow group or groups were not being managed). We didn't have a starter and never saw a Marshall on the course. Too bad - the course is interesting but we will not be going back!
Slow greens
This course was in pretty good shape. My only complaint is that the greens are really slow and variable. Would be better if they focused more time on consistent speed and a bit faster.
Raven Claw June 4
Course was in great shape. Greens rolled at medium speed. Pace of play was around 4 hrs. Cloudy and windy with some intermittent light showers. Enjoyed playing with people paired up with.
Great Conditions
Course has a nice layout and is in great condition. foursome in front were slow thus slowing us down. Some holes were challenging and others were easy as long as you hit them straight. Would go back again.
Not worth the prime-time pay
Have played here over 20 times to living close by, but this was the worst I have seen the course in quite some time. Definitely not worth the prime time rate. Get it via a hot deal or discounted rate. Really isn't worth more than maybe 50$ to play here. Never anyone to speed up pace of play, almost took 5 hours. Will play again since it is a decently challenging fun course, but hoping it gets in better shape.
Nice course
Overall this is a good play. Biggest issue I had was the greens, they are very slow. Decent layout with a few challenging holes as well as a few really gettable holes too. If you can get a good price give it a go.
Perfect Friday afternoon
Was Really surprised to play as a single on a beautiful 83 and sunny Friday afternoon. The pro shop let me go out a few minutes early and it was smooth sailing all afternoon. This was only my 3rd time playing here, all this year. Im a big fan, it's challenging, it has character and it's in good shape (players need to fix ball marks, I don't get why it's ever an issue). Will definitely be back.
Unique challenge
This is my second time playing Raven's Claw. Greens were aerated a couple of weeks ago and probably need a couple more weeks to be ready, but we knew that going in.
Overall, the course was in better condition than the other 5 courses I've played this spring and if you can secure the GN hot deal, a definite value. It was cloudy and forecast for rain so pace of play was not an issue since there were few golfers out the day we played. Not a course most people would want to walk.
Lots of dogs legs and the landing areas and on the "narrow side" if you're accustomed to playing wide-open links-style courses where your drives can stray onto neiborog fairways and not be penalized. If you wide on the wrong side of the landing areas, you'll discover that small mistakes can be magnified. There are houses lining some of the holes, but generally don't come into play.
Greens are undulating and large. Generally rolls true and quite fair although they were VERY slow the day we played.
The only thing missing was the 19th hole. Super friendly staff, but if you're hoping for dinner, you'll have to head off-site for now. I guess the kitchen is being "repaired."
Staff made the difference
The "gentleman" that was in the pro shop was mean, condescending, miserable and outright nasty. In the past I have enjoyed the course, but this person totally brought the entire day down and was the cause of the bad review. I will pass this on to all others.
Always Enjoy Raven's Claw
Raven's Claw is a really nice course. Good conditions all around even on this spring feeling winter day. The front nine is fairly straight-forward. The track gets a little tricky (more challenging) on the back nine. Most holes are expansive but a push, pull, slice or hook can lead to an unplayable lie or even a lost ball. Some nice scenery. And then there's the looming nuclear cooling towers from Limerick. And of course, you'll almost always see the namesake Ravens gliding around the course.
Ravens claw
Course was in good condition, challenging layout, greens were very slow! I got there an hr early , but wasn't allowed out earlier, even though no one teed off all morning or even in front of me which my tee time was 11 am, which was fine , I realized they don't have to let me out early, it just seems some courses let you go out early and some don't! They don't seem cater to golf now tee times when it comes to letting someone go early if there's no one else there. harbor pines made me wait 3 hrs in 25 degree weather and I was the only 1 on the books all day! Like I said some courses let you go early and some Don't! Luckily I was paired up with a nice guy and a pretty good golfer! Had a good time !
