Raven's Claw Golf Club
About
Located in Limerick Township, Raven's Claw Golf Club is one of southeastern Pennsylvania's best golf and residential communities. It consistently ranks as one of the state's top 10. Carved from rolling hills and mature woodlands, the layout features a variety of different holes. No two holes are alike but they require some creative shot-making abilities. With tight fairways and undulating greens bordered by mounds of rough, the golf course also demands accuracy. The design incorporates links-style elements that present a formidable test. The golf course is undoubtedly challenging but there are also recovery opportunities on each hole, which makes it less daunting for beginners. One of Raven's Claw Golf Club's most memorable holes is the tricky penultimate hole. This unforgiving par-3 has a double-tiered, undulating green with no bailout areas to the left or right. Golfers that hit it short will face a blind second shot.

Let down
This was a favorite layout of mine. Now the course has become a huge disappointment. The condition of the entire course was terrible. I'm wondering if people that play there treat it the way they do because of the sad shape that it's in. Ball marks not fixed, bunkers not raked. Divots not filled or replaced. It was a high priced worth the money course. Now it's a rag that I wouldn't pay 25$ to play.
Nice course in good condition
First time playing. The course was nice and in good shape. The staff was very nice and the facilities were well maintained.
Aeration and Golfnow response
We booked one week prior to play date and the course aerated one week prior to play date. We only learned of aeration one day ahead when the course sent its own email offering an aeration special at less than golfnows hot deal. Greens were poor
Worst condition I've seen RC in years.
Raven's Claw has been one of my go to courses since it opened, but after this weekend I'm reconsidering. Pace of play was abysmally slow and nothing was done to pick it up. Cart girl appeared once in 5 hours. The fairways are chopped up and burnt out. The greens were recently aerated, which is necessary I suppose, but it just added to a long, frustrating round.
Greens are awful
Greens have recently been aerated, which apparently means dumping sand in all of the small aerated holes and all over the greens. You're better off not putting as it will only mess up your touch/feel for the future. Balls bounced all over, you had to smash the ball for it to go anywhere, and there was no stopping/checking on any of your short game shots. Honestly you're better off either not playing or just picking up once you get to the greens. I got a hot deal on a weekday for $28 and would have rather paid twice that to play elsewhere. Maybe once the greens are in better shape, I'll give this course another try, but only if the greens are in better condition and if I can get some sort of deal for less than $30 as it's not worth anything more than that at this point in time.
Uninformed
The greens had been air rated which was not list when I booked this with golf now. After driving a half hour the gentleman in the club house said don't play I will give you your money back. It would be a good idea to post this info along with tee times when work was done on the course. Very disappointed!!!!
Great Track, Wide Open
The Claw is one of my favorite, and best courses in the Philly area; I think it has been a top 5(or 10) Philly area course for many years running. Its located in what I call Philly's Golfers Triangle bc there are roughly 10 courses in a 10 mile radius. Course is always in great shape, the fourth fairway always seems to be soggy, but no complaints. It can play long (the back tee on 10 is 150 yards behind the Blue tee box; par 3, 17th is 240 yards from the back tee), but has 5 tee choices. Wide fairways and average rough make it seem easy. But once on the greens you realize it is not that easy. Undulating greens, false fronts and some pin placements can be demonic. Some fairways have tall grasses that line the rough. Multiple forced carries. Water is pretty much non existent (shank it far left on 2, same pond skirts short left on par 3, 3rd, and a shank far left on 4 are only areas it comes into play). Bunkers are always in good shape, which says something bc a lot of local courses have skimped on the sand this year. Club selection is paramount. Forced layups and carries make use of just about every club in the bag.
Ravens claw
i think the rates were a bit high, but the greens were in great shape, pace of play was awesome, and the course itself is very cool! they just ariated the fairways and are doing the greens soon so heads up. but i will be coming back to ravens claw
Well maintained....nice views
Play this course a few times a year. Always satisfied. Kept in good shape, and a few challenging holes.
Raven's Review
Great condition. Only issue was a 5 hour pace. Hurry up and wait at many holes.
I would only play here for discounted rate
Raven's Claw is a really tough challenging lay out but my only gripe is that the course maintenance has really gone down hill in the last couple of years. It has a lot of quality and the holes depending on where you play from can be really fun to some what hard. I would high recommend Ravens Claw, but they really need to step up the course maintenance here.
Challenge for any level of golfer
Nice course in good condition with scenic holes, well placed sand traps, challenging greens with good roll. Tee boxes good be s bit better but overall a very interesting course. Houses are around the course but for the most part don't come into play. Worth it at regular rate and a steal of a deal through golf now
Great course but a little pricey
It's a great course to play on. One of the best but they should offer special deals to the golfers that are driving 30-45 mins away from the course to attract more customers.
Greens and fairways are in great shape, very friendly staff and great food at the bar.
Torn hp
Not sure if they had an outing or something, but the amount of cig butts and the chewed up fairways and greens was really disappointing to say the least. Not sure I'll be heading back given course conditions. Obviously everyone else has given up too, no fixing ball marks or divots, carts were really poor, best thing was $2.50 yuenglings...
Great Course
Loved this course. 1st time I played this course, course was in great shape greens a little fast. Will definitely be back
RC
This is a great layout. But, over the past few years the course condition has deteriorated. The greens were excellent, tee boxes and fairways were good, rough becoming mostly crab grass, and the bunkers were horrible. Some of the bunkers had very little sand, others had rocks. The cart paths are still not finished and the carts are pathetic. It is a good course to play for a reduced rate, but I would never give them full rate.
Good Time
Enjoyed the course two weekends in a row. Two foursomes had a great time. Everyone enjoyed the course and the amenities.
review
Course was in good shape greens rolled very true but a little slow
Great track, poor pace
Loved our round here. Great conditions for a great price and friendly staff. Unique layouts on just about ever hole. Just a plodding pace of play though, could be improved. In spite of this, I will be back for sure.
Ravens Claw 7-11-15
This was my 4th time playing this course. The course has a very good lay out and the condition was also very good. On the negative side it was a 5 hour round on a Saturday morning and the hotdogs are the worst known to mankind.
