Morgan Hill Golf Course
About
The Morgan Hill Golf Course in Easton has a somewhat misleading name since you'll find more than just hills on this challenging course. Be prepared to face a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course has a dramatic design that is carved into a hillside, which makes it a hard course to walk but one that is visually interesting and tough to play. It may not be a layout for the faint of heart but the scenery alone is enough to provide enjoyment. Golfers can enjoy scenic views of the river, but scenic respite is the only break you'll get. There is hardly an even lie to be found and the severely undulating greens will test even the most seasoned golfers. Also, be prepared for a slew of blind shots at Morgan Hill Golf Course.

Half the course closed
Would have been nice to know that the back 8 holes were closed off I think golf now should let us know about corsre changes
Super Nice
I love this track. Great views and just enough challenge. And it never plays the same twice. One thing I learned, it gets much easier each time you play it.
In close it's not boring or flat and thinking just a bit about strategy makes it a super way to spend a day.
Great Course, Lower Skills will Struggle
The course was really cool. Very hilly and creates some very interesting lies. As a novice golfer I definitely struggled more than I normally do and would recommend waiting to play until handicap comes down some. Still enjoyable but also frustratingly difficult at times!
Bring your climbing gear
First time and last time playing this course. The staff was friendly and very personable, so they get 5 stars. The course was in average shape, a few dry spots on the greens that needed repair, but the greens were challenging and enjoyable. Now, the layout, seemed like every tee shot was a blind shot. The elevation changes from hole to hole were insane. At one point we didn’t go down or level out for 3-4 holes. Every shot is an uneven lie, fairway or not. It’s a “hill” course with links layout. Not my style of course, but to each their own. Good luck.
Tough track
Very challenging especially from the back green tee boxes. Rough abut long given the challenge of the blind tee shots and up hill greens. With a 250 drive still need a long iron hitting to uphill greens. Lost balls related to these factors with ball in rough but a playable shot if could only find it.
All par threes are long iron or wood shots. Tough course..
Overall, this is a scenic view on every hole. Take a camera. But be forewarned of length a difficult. Enjoyed a $35 round probably do to major bunker and manicuring turf around them as well. Just stay out of them I say!!!! Enjoy
Almost 6 hour round of golf
Are you kidding me. The views are tremendous. The lack of pace of play enforcement made this a poor experience. No locker room facilities( even though the were signs directing. To lockeroom). Ran out of Gatorade!, a teen riding around as the only ranger. There are too many options to return here
Super Fun
First time playing was great l. A lot of fun with and awesome layout with a bunch of elevation changes. Will be back!
Great layout
Although the course has not had rain in about two months, they are doing a real nice job in doing what they can to maintain the course. The greens and fairways are still in good shape although 3 of the greens need some work. The fairways a bit brown/green still have that carpet feel when hitting off them. The staff was great especially the pro, extremely friendly and accommodating. I have played the course many times although first time in years, still a phenomenal layout and once the rain comes it will be even better. Definitely recommend playing
Disappointing
The Good:
The staff was very nice. I enjoyed the undulating and challenging, layout and design, although the physicality of the course will prove too much for many golfers. Of note, there are outstanding views to be had throughout the course.
The Not So Good:
Number One Issue… There was no water offered to drink, and there was no beverage cart to be seen. Thee quarters of the way through the course I started to feel weak and uncomfortable to the point that I looked forward to the round ending.
Number two… The T areas were not managed well, they were dry and filled with divots. It was frequently difficult to find a smooth or level spot to take your swing. Also, three quarters of the ball cleaners were missing or empty.
Number three… The sand traps had little sand in them, and the sand was old, dense, and caked with rather large rocks in it. Definitely needed more, new, and lighter sand.
Number four… The greens were dry and bouncy with the grass being very similar to the synthetic grass on my driving mat at home.
Number five… The brakes on our cart were very difficult to feather, meaning they were either on or off. Fortunately ours was a dry day, but for a player on a damp day, our cart would been exceptionally dangerous on this course.
Number six… On the visor of our golf cart there was a notice which warned that we were limited to four hours and 26 minutes of play, and that we were being monitored by a GPS tracker installed on the cart. Besides sounding nasty and making you feel uncomfortable during the play which you have paid for, four hours and 26 minutes can easily be exceeded on busy weekends, or when a pairing has been added to your reservation to make a foursome, or even if you just stop to get a drink or go to the bathroom at the turnaround.
Number seven… There is no driving range, chipping, area, or sand practice area, only a small putting green, which is not very representative of the greens on the course.
Conclusion…
If you are a very good golfer, are on the young side, healthy, and a fan of hilly challenging courses, you may enjoy Morgan Hill Country Club; otherwise, you may want to look elsewhere. If you are up to giving it a try, you will enjoy the beautiful hilltop views that are available throughout the course. Unfortunately, I believe this course does not live up to its potential.
