Birdsfoot Golf Club
About
Birdsfoot Golf Club gets its name from the birdsfoot trefoil that covers the course, budding with small yellow flowers. Mature trees also blanket the course, making it an especially scenic round in the fall. The front nine has a links-style layout with more open holes while the back nine has a parkland landscape with trees framing most of the holes. What both nines have in common is the rolling terrain that provides some tricky uneven lies throughout. It is a golf course that requires a good deal of accuracy but it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. There are some good eagle opportunities on the course's par 4s and par 5s, though it is also home to four of the toughest par 3s in the Pittsburgh area.

Very nice.
Course was very wet from all the recent rains, but was still in great condition. Cart guy drove a cart down to our car so we didn't have to walk up to the club house. Very nice touch. Would definitely play again & recommend.
Great Course
Enjoyable course to play. I am not a great golfer by any means and thought this course had a great balance of easy holes and difficult holes. I'm from this area I would say it's one of the nicest courses around.
Beautiful course
Great looking course. It's always a treat to play. Challenging and well kept. Great staff. So thankful this gem is so close to my parents home .
Open and fun to play
Course was in great shape. Had rained an hour before we tee off and the course was not wet at all. Would play again for sure
First time
Course is link style, and I prefer trees. Course was very maintained, and the cups were very crisp on edges. Number 9 needs a lot of work . Try filling in the gully in front with some dirt or make it a water hole. The seniors tee is hidden from the next group behind them. For the price ,it is too far to travel.
My view
Everyone loves this place and I totally respect the effort. Great staff, feat atmosphere. The course is just poorly designed. The greens are have break and are true but those valley holes are the worst around. 2 is dumb and 16 penalizes you with a downhill lie on a smash hammered drive. The course is way overrated but the way it is run and the staff is. Why I say yes every dang time. Oak Tree, Madison or Spring Chirch are just better golf courses.
Early spring review
This is probably the 10-15 time ive played this course. Since i played in early april the bunkers were not done yet but the greens, fairway and rought were all in top notch shape for the time of year. I have never have a problem at this course and will continue to come back becuase it truly is one of the best golf courses within the region.
Well Managed Course
Other courses in Pgh area should learn from this course. It is properly run and properly maintained. The course itself has enough challenges to make it interesting.
Nice test of golf
Challenging course. Very nice views of the surrounding countryside. Enjoyed myself.
One of best local courses
One of the best local courses, especially for the money. If you get a hot deal, I've played for well under $20 incl the cart. Can't beat the deal. On my list of top 5 local Pittsburgh public courses.
Beautiful View!
One of my favorite courses. This is a well run and excellent Golf Course. I see only good things to come in the future of this golf course. The Lindseys seem to be on the right path to knowing how to run a successful Golf Course. I highly recommend if you haven't played this course.
Needs work
Great layout with nice views. No 2 holes are the same. Having said that, the greens were are in terrible shape. Many putts took awkward bounces, Also I had a 2:54 tee time, which I didn't get on the first tee till about 3:20 because of lack of golf carts. I think they overbook weekends. By the end of the round I was putting in the dark.
Good layout with lots of play
The course is a very scenic one with grand vistas. The day I played saw lots of players on the course for a 4-1/2 hour round even during a Steelers game. The fairways were in pretty good shape. The greens were pretty beat up - fix your ball marks golfers! There is a good beer selection in the snack bar. The staff is great.
Unique course
This is a pretty good course that is made better by the beautiful setting. The course has great views and a very nice layout built into hillsides that are covered with gorgeous vegitation. Very cool. Also unique in that the clubhouse seemed to be an old farm house, as did the rest of the facility.
The course is in pretty good shape, although the rough was patchy in some areas/unkempt and the greens were kind of rough, tons of ball marks and rough areas. Bunkers had a bunch of small rocks in them. Otherwise in good shape, fairways were nice.
As with most courses in Pittsburgh there is a lot of elevation change, so be ready for that. Lot of uneven stances. I'd play it again, but not for the standard rate. Getting on for 40-45 bucks here would be solid.
Day after a day of rain
Course was in decent shape but was wet enough that it was cart paths only. Traps were mostly in-playable and filled with water. Blue and black tees were worn and in some cases bare.
Greens putted ok but are heavily pick marked. Why doesn't the average golfer know how to fix a ball mark so it disappears???
First time playing here
Greens putted true but were difficult due to undulations. Bunkers were very muddy from recent rain. Overall a fun course to play and in pretty good condition.
Good Time!
Played Birdsfoot several years ago in the rain and always wanted to get back to play again. Great weather this time. Starter said they had a big event the weekend before so course wasn't in perfect condition, but still considerably better than most local places.
Played for the Birdsfoot special at $25! 11:30 AM Start
