Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019.
The executive-length course at the Adobe Dam Family Golf Center is mostly made up of par 3s and par 4s but there is one par 5. The golf course is suitable for beginners but it is also great for more advanced players who want to work on their short game. The course has small greens typical of older, traditional courses and they require accurate shotmaking. The last two holes are the most difficult. The Adobe Family Golf Center is also home to the Phoenix Golf School. There are also practice facilities including a lighted driving range with 50 all grass hitting stations, a pitching green that has bunkering, and a putting green.

Overall this course was a very bad experience. I made a 7:00 AM tee time through this app. All online information indicated the course opened at 6. I showed up at 6, expecting to get checked in hit a bucket of balls to warm up. While maintenance workers were there at 6, no one opened up the shop until 6:45. It turns out 6 AM is their summer opening time. By that point I didnt have enough time to get a proper warm up, so I skipped the range. Buckets of balls were also grossly overpriced. A large was 10 bucks. I've played multiple other courses, much nicer ones overall, that were half that price. So already not off to a good start. Now onto the course. The course itself is playable and fairly well maintained from the fairways, the boxes, and greens. Everything else though was atrocious. Everything 1 ft or more off the fairway was knee high weeds. Not being the greatest golfer, I wound up losing all the balls I came to play with by the 3rd hole, simply because I couldnt keep the ball on the fairway. And I wasnt about to leave the course and go buy more golf balls just to lose those too. Some of that can of course be blamed on me being a newer player who isnt very skilled, but at least some of that is to be blamed on the fact that I didnt get the chance to warm up properly due to them not opening when the online info said they would. If I had a proper warmup, my long shots would have been much better, probably keeping me on the fairway more. I had no issues with my short game, which I warmed up on at the practice green while waiting for them to finally open. If you are at a skill level where keeping it on the fairways is automatic, I'd say this course is decent for the money, and a good way to keep your skills sharp for not a lot of money. But as a new golfer still trying to get better, it was a huge waste of money as I didnt even get to play half of the 9 holes I payed for. Also, the staff, while not overtly discourteous, werent apologetic at all about the miscommunication about the opening time. They basically shrugged it off that as a paying customer I wasnt getting the experience I should have gotten.

Never go!
If you any type of golfer, do not go to this course! Period! Fairways are weeds to your ankles.. Greens are so bumpy you will never make a ten foot putt. Tee boxes were weed boxes. Only thing I could say if useful was lighted driving range but who knows if that even works. And they still charging people 20 bucks. Pay another five and find your self at a course ten fold times a million better than this course. That says that and golf now should never promote this again.

Rough around the edges
The course has a very nice layout for a executive course. The tee boxes were in fair shape but the greens were pretty bumpy making it hard to putt. You better make sure you stayed on the fairways or you probably wouldn’t find your ball.. the course could be a nice little course with a lot of TLC and a extensive cleanup.

This course was overall a poor course. I made an online reservation through this app for 7 AM. Everything online said they opened at 6. I showed up at 6 to get checked in and warm up. Maintenance workers were the only ones there until about 6:45 when someone finally came and opened the shop so I could check in. By that point I didnt have enough time to get a bucket of balls and warm up properly. Apparently 6 AM are their summer hours. Buckets of balls were also highly overpriced. 10 bucks for a large. I've played much nicer courses who had large buckets for half that price. The off fairway maintenance was also atrocious. Anything more than 1 ft off the fairway was knee high weeds, and being a newer player who has trouble keeping it on the fairway, I lost all my balls by hole 3. It's a cheap desert course so I didn't expect everything to be as well manicured as a nice course, but to lose 5+ balls by the third hole less than 10 feet off the fairways due to lack of maintenance is unacceptable. And I wasnt about to go buy their overpriced packs of balls just to lose those too. If you are a good player who can keep it on the fairways, I'd say this is a decent course that's cheap to play at. It does have a couple par 4's and a dog leg par 5 so it gives more dimension to the game than a typical par 3 nine hole course. If you are a new player though like me, I would steer away from this course until you hone your skills.
Excellent at this time a year
The course was in phenomenal condition I have never seen it so green. Thank you
Awesome course
This course is very fair priced and has a nice lay out it is a desert course that you can walk and play in around two hours it’s sweet.
Irrigation is broken but they were keeping care with water tanks and tractors. Course is dry but certainly still playable.
PRICE
The Hot T-Time on golf now was $10.25. That is the MOST anyone should pay to play there. Good course, but it is what it is.
Great Practice Facility
Took a hot deal for 10.00 which included all the fees. Course isn't much but I like the practice range and the 9 holes are good iron practice but it's not worth much more than 10-15 dollars
Great Warm-up and Foot golf also
Booked for $20 total for 2 walking. Played in 75 minutes. Greens are small but good, especially after being cut. We were just looking for a place to warm up. Great little practice area and okay range with real grass. Great place to take kids. They also offer foot golf for 1st timers who want to try or for the kids to play along with you while you get some shots in.
Great beginner course
A very basic beginner course. Price is commensurate to this. However, if your time is short and you want to get 9 holes in, this works very well. Also, the driving range is good for a warm up. If you are looking for great AZ scenery or a challenging course, this is not it. For those that are spending a week in the sunny south and haven't swung a club in a few months, it was perfect to knock the rust off.
Quick 9
What can I say? I paid $5.99 to play. It’s not a great course but heck it’s golf and I love golf. And it got me back home before the kids were even out of bed!
Great short game game constructing
With elevated greens, short par 3’s and some straight par 4s . You think this would be an easy course. This layout really defines your short game and if you’re on - you’re on. Greens are always nicely mowed and smooth rolling. Great practice course if you need work on GIR from 150yds or less. This will test your skill.
