Layout is good
Would not go back or recommend it. Course seemed very neglected. Sad to see. Empty pro shop is never a good sign
Not Bad But More Attention To Members Needed
Don't open tee times for non-members until at least 10AM. Let the members have the opportunities to play before all of these slow and amazingly lousy snowbird golfers get out there. They really need to be playing putt-putt golf because they sure do not belong on a real course.
Good Value For The Money
Most courses in the Fort Walden area are priced significantly higher than the Fort Walden Beach courses, so my wife and I booked the Pines course. While the fairways are wide, they only had a sparse amount of grass over the subsoil with the result that they produced tight lies. As higher handicappers accustomed to more lush fairways, we found them challenging. The greens were acceptable, although several had some patchy areas that needed repair. We found the pace of play very good as there was a Marshall constantly roaming around to ensure that no group was lagging behind. The staff was very friendly, and the check-in process was very well done. Although we didn't use it, the course offers a full bar and dining facility. We would play this course again.
Golf carts
When we got to the course they were out of golf carts. By time we received one we had to tee off 20 minutes late
Cart Delay
Waited 25 minutes past our scheduled tee time of 11:30 am to get a cart as none were available. Many others waiting as well. Staff indicated they had many carts that were broken-expecting new carts in a few weeks.
No carts
Not the course’s fault at all. It rained all morning the day we played. When we got there, just as rain was letting up, we’re informed that carts were not allowed for the day. We had to choose between not playing or walking 18. We chose to play and experience was ok. It just stinks that we paid for a round with cart and did not get what we paid for. Clubhouse staff was good about it and understood. It was out of ther control.
The course was ok but very yellow, fairways not on their best.
Our golf cart stopped suddenly between hole 11 and twelve without any warning, they are a little bit worn. Lukely they came fast to bring us another one, otherwise we would have lost our pace!!!
Waste of a review - anyway, too many sorry golfers out there that play way too slow. If you can't even break 90, go play somewhere else and let the members of the golf course play. Snowbirds and such have plenty of money - go play in Destin and SanDestin and leave our course ALONE!
Because there are too many golfers on the course as well because you need to find somewhere else to play - unless you are a member.
