Aguila Golf Course
The Aquila Golf Course facility offers two golf courses; one is a championship length course while the other is a par-3, nine-hole course. The championship course provides an excellent game of golf for an affordable price. There are scenic views of mountains and downtown Phoenix as well as a challenging layout featuring several water hazards and bunkers. Although the terrain is rather hilly, it is still relatively walkable. The course has an excellent range of holes that each have a unique character, the par 5's are especially notable. Native grasses and wildflowers are also present on Aquila's Championship course, further adding to its natural beauty.

This course has really come around over the last few years. Bunkers are great and greens roll really true.
Good layout. A good design
The course is a good test of golf. I like how the holes shoot in different directions. The foliage has matured quite a bit in the last 10 years making it even a better layout. When the wind blows it is a very good design, as it is thought out with the predominant wind in mind blowing west to east.
Plays really long. Good time hitting your driver and let the big dog eat. Greens were in decent shape and fast. Real fast. Had a good time. Cart girls was great made it around a few times. Had hot dog specials and beer specials. I’ll play again.
Worth the drive
I have to say, I wasn't expecting much considering it's a muni. course and it's location, but I was wrong.
After a few friends told me about this course, I decided to check it out for myself.
Hidden gem in the rough.
Very good experience for my first out.
Fantastic greens, pretty quick and undulated.
Pace of play was very good
Large practice putting green.
Plenty of sand in the bunkers.
Actually had a cart attendant (Tuesday)(Covid19)
Even had time after the round to play the Par 3 nine hole course.
Will be revisiting
Value for $$$
As always Aguila is a good test of golf. It’s a well laid out course with a little water, well placed found, greens With contour and speed.
They have the Coronavius Preventive measures up and running. No rakes, keep the pin in the hole, Carts sanitized and washed after rounds, restaurants closed except take out.
We like a Aguila. We think it gives good value for the money. Brought some friends along they also enjoyed. Stay safe take care!
This has been our favourite for many years even though it is an hour drive. Scenic and very quiet. Love it!
We appreciate you and thank you for supporting Aguila! We are here to provide wonderful hospitality and a golf course to match! We look forward to seeing you again real soon and please stop by a say hello!
I keep coming back
I always enjoy my rounds at Aguila. Friendly staff and Course was in excellent condition.. greens were quick! Beautiful views!
Play this public course every year when we come to Phoenix. Great value, a challenging but fair layout, and usually great condition. This year the greens were a little sparse and need to fill in, but overall a great day.
Fantastic course; great value; great breakfast sandwich; friendly staff.
Hit the ball straight
Fairways and greens are hard and fast. Keeping the ball in the fairway a must. and below the hole on the greens. sand traps are excellent. Only negative was walkers in front of us slowed us down.. Paired with two nice gentleman from DC that could really hit the ball.
Areas around the greens were very rough, with little grass to play off of.
Course overall is very nice, greens were challenging.
This course has some challenging holes, was fun to play. Greens in great shape will be back to play.
Great value and a good time
First time here and I will return. While I would not say anything is off the charts impressive I was not disappointed either. Facilities are nice, staff is attentive, everything was on time and moved along throughout the day. The fairways and greens are in good shape. They have the dead rough thing going on for winter as a lot of places do. I would say the course has a good variety of holes. It is overall pretty forgiving and a good player could score low here. Added bonus the people I was paired with were regulars and a pleasure to play with.
