The Aquila Golf Course facility offers two golf courses; one is a championship length course while the other is a par-3, nine-hole course. The championship course provides an excellent game of golf for an affordable price. There are scenic views of mountains and downtown Phoenix as well as a challenging layout featuring several water hazards and bunkers. Although the terrain is rather hilly, it is still relatively walkable. The course has an excellent range of holes that each have a unique character, the par 5's are especially notable. Native grasses and wildflowers are also present on Aquila's Championship course, further adding to its natural beauty.

Love this course. Interesting layout that keeps your attention. However, I was very surprised to learn (while one the course) that there is limited drinking water on course, no cart person and a very limited amount to purchase in pro shop. on a summer day in Phoenix, this borders on dangerous for the golfer. was told later that course doesn't have restaurant license so no cart person but no reason they cant have big water jugs on the course or ice buckets on the cart if you bring your own. love this course but will have to think twice before playing again before October

Muni gem!

Always enjoy playing here. Bunkers are much better. No snack bar and beer selection is weak. Not a fan of how they handle operation hours but those are the only negatives.

Nice Course

This course is always in fairly good shape. I don't mind driving around the mountain to ensure decent playing conditions. The bunkers were a little rough last time I played but they have sand in them now. They don't have a snack bar which is a little odd.

Great course. City needs to fix lack of restaurant/cart beverage service problem.

City of Phoenix City Council can fix this. Food and beverage service in the summer in Phoenix is a safety as well as comfort issue. Subsidies for foodservice now, please. This problem has gone on too long.

Phoenix golf

This is a spectacular course for views and staff. No snack bar or beverages are available which stinks but the course shines. Tremendous vistas!! Greens and overall course was a pleasure to play. Definitely return

OK City Course

I played here 5 weeks ago and the course is in the same condition. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens would be rated at 4-5 stars but the rough and bunkers would only be rated at 1-2 stars. It was a 4.5 hour round so pace of play was OK although I'm not a fan of allowing people to walk while others pay for a cart and wait behind the walking groups.

One of the Better PHX City Courses

Aguila is one of the more challenging city courses and the fairways and greens were in decent shape. The bunkers are in disrepair and under renovation based on signage in the carts with a free drop during play. For $30-40 it's one of the better options for winter golf in Phoenix. If it wasn't a city course I'd give is a 3/5.
