Aguila Golf Course
About
The Aquila Golf Course facility offers two golf courses; one is a championship length course while the other is a par-3, nine-hole course. The championship course provides an excellent game of golf for an affordable price. There are scenic views of mountains and downtown Phoenix as well as a challenging layout featuring several water hazards and bunkers. Although the terrain is rather hilly, it is still relatively walkable. The course has an excellent range of holes that each have a unique character, the par 5's are especially notable. Native grasses and wildflowers are also present on Aquila's Championship course, further adding to its natural beauty.

Tee off @2.50 pm we were not able to finish stoped on 15th hole due to darkness, i think Golf Now should not post tee times that late as anything posted 1 hr earlier is almost double the price !!! so??? is Golf Now membership worth having!!
Cart girl
The course was in great shape . My compliant is we saw the cart girl on the 1st hole and just as we finished on our 18th hole. My playing partner says that normal and he said she us a crappy cart girl.
Decent public course
Thought it was in good condition. Need to have a marshal on the course. Don't care for Links style courses though. Overall because of the good condition of the course I would play there again.
Like to Play Here
Great course, not too hard but still very challenging. Lots of rolling hills and fairways are wide and green. Some ruff spots and water can get you in trouble. Great to see the wildlife, especially the Road Runners. Definitely will be back again
Great Round in Phoenix
The course itself was actually pretty good. The fairways had adequate grass in them to have the ball sit up properly and make good contact. Greens were receptive and relatively smooth. Didn't roll too fast and putts were true if you hit them properly. Course isn't overly difficult, but it does offer a variety of sight lines that make you think about what you are going to do off the tee.
It is a muni and I wasn't expecting to be playing at a TPC level facility. For the price paid, the course is very, very good. And it is exceptionally easy to walk if you want to do that.
Good value
Good design….. course is very playable and always in good condition
Lisa in the shop is outstanding
I feel the city card is a useful tool but there never seems to be any times available . Very disappointing
Chilly day on an excellent course
47 degrees teeing off at 1::44 made us hustle but we finished and we had a great golfing experience..Fairways are healthy and greens were true.
I really recommend this course!
Slow, below average condition
Don't be fooled by the ratings into thinking that this is something more than a cheap Muni full of hacks. The 8 minute tee time intervals are a killer. Took 2 hours 40 minutes to finish 9 holes at twilight.
The course isn't watered, with the exception of hole 9 and hole 18. The rough was all dead grass. You see it as you drive into the parking lot - the Par 3 course is yellow. Balls bounced high off the fairway and ran out. Fairways were overseeded and painted. The greens were not seeded enough, plenty of muddy spots - did not roll well as a result. Bunkers had plenty of sand.
Was pleasantly surprised to see a course at this price point have GPS in the carts. It also had an alert for pace of play - just had to laugh at how it was telling us we were 20 minutes behind pace on hole 5 while we were waiting for groups in front of us. No starter, no ranger, but the drink cart came around 3x.
There's great mountain views, some lengthy holes from the tips, a grass range (no free balls for players). The course is fairly easy - several holes where fairways run parallel to other fairways, so you don't have to be accurate off the tee. The hardest thing was trying to chip if your ball missed the green, because the ground was rock hard and there was limited dead grass.
It's in a really isolated part of town, the next closest golf course is a 20 minute drive. Apparently the corner of Dobbins and 35th is a place where people day camp - we saw 4 cars parked there, playing banda music and grilling.
