Great course the greens were in pristine condition even after all the rain we had over the few days beforehand.
Greens unplayable
I do like playing here, however it is hard work as you are walking up and down the side of a hill and unless you use a cart it’ll be tough,
The greens this time round where ironed to an inch of their lives, unplayable. If fact all was missing was a windmill and clown face, crazy golf. .
Stunning course
Played castlecomer course for the first time as I was in kilkenny with friends, it was great value for money(€22) for early tee off time, firstly the course is stunning, it's a very playable course and forgiving for high handicap players like myself, had my best score at this course so far, I would absolutely recommend this course for anyone.
Great hidden gem
Extremely fair and playable, forgiving and challenging. Amazing views and friendly people
Nice
Nice course in the Kilkenny area. Well worth the money. Course superintendent very nice and helpful in explaining course setup. If you walk it is very hilly and will tax you physically. Would love to play it again on our next trip.
Good Value for Money
Well maintained course for the price, the view from the 10th tee box is spectacular. Only negative is the poor signage between holes.
Excellent Course
I booked online which was very straightforward.
Two younger players ahead of me were very slow and playing/practicing several shots/balls on each hole.
However, the course was excellent and the team were all very nice (Linda on the phone very helpful)
Castlecomer
Great course and layout and challenging course would recommen
book a buggy
great track, but hilly. book a buggy in advance. we walked it and it's tiring. gravelly bunkers not so good
Unforgettable!!
Wow! That's the first word that comes to mind! Having played numerous "average" club courses up and down the country, you arrive at Castlecomer expecting more of the same and leave thinking "where the did that come out of and how did I not know about this place until now!" First of all, the location is stunning. Beautiful rolling parkland, mature trees, Bluebells in full bloom and a few rabbits as well. Each hole throws up a different challenge and it won't take you long to have used every club in your bag at least once. Speaking with locals they informed me that a new pathway though the trees has made the course much more user friendly and significantly reduces the physical demands of the course. I cannot speak highly enough of this course. If you want your Golfing senses reawakened then you must play Castlecomer. One small negative is that the gents toilets and showers are not in great condition, however I was informed that they are to undergo a complete refurbishment in the autumn. Happy days indeed, a course like this deserves the very best.
