Wonderful
Absolutely wonderful course, friendly staff, pace of play was very leisurely and I enjoyed myself a lot ! I will DEFINITELY be playing this course again. Possibly within the week because I enjoyed it so much.
Poor
Very short course, which is fine. But a lot of par 3s with no variety. No water. No bunkers. Just trees. Greens were decent but fairways were shoddy. Starter was rude.
The waiting game
Lady at the checkin was very rude, so off to a so so start. Went off behind a fivesome (4 walkers and a rider) and our twosome was never given the opportunity to play through. Waited on every shot on every hole. Too make matters worse a group went off the back in front of the fivesome in front of us. I have never had to wait as much in a round of golf as here and this was a weekday morning. Cannot imagine what a weekend would be like. Find any other course.
Wished I'd Known
It would have been nice to know in advance that there are no par 5's on the course -
It would have been nice to know in advance there was no beverage cart on the course -
Didn't receive a scorecard, no starter, standing water everywhere
For the price it's good
Over all a good course to play for the price. The greens are in ok shape. They are working on the course every time I go to play but that shows me they are trying to improve.
Good Times
Had a good time playing the course. Played as a single on the front nine before pairing up with someone for the back nine.
Grad School Golfer
Golfnow makes this course very reasonable. Rarely busy.
Nice course for practicing your short game
Nice course to come out to and have fun and improve your short game. The fairways have some bare spots, but you can't have perfection with big, beautiful trees, and this is northern FL. The greens were in great shape. Very reasonably priced on GolfNow.
Great Greens
A par 60 course but the Greens are in great shape. A solid course to practice your short game and putting.
Great Course
Great course and friendly staff. The course is in great shape even though it was feb.
Getting better
The course is getting better with time. For the golfnow price it was worth it.
Course has improved greatly
Since new management and or ownership this course in the past 2yrs has improved greatly.great course to walk being only a 60 par also can play at night with the lighting. Poles and light bulbs are being replaced which improve night play.
Wastend GNV
The course and facility has greatly improved the past two years. Most regular players agree the course is in the best shape ever. 18 holes under the lights is great fun besides where else can you do that.
Thanks Mike O.
Much improved!
So I play here about 2-3 times a year when I'm home for the holidays or what not. The last few years have been pretty bad as far as course condition goes. However, this time I was pleasantly surprised! The course has definitely received some very well deserved TLC. The facilities themselves... well that's another story.
Greens: Greens were in the best condition that I've seen them in YEARS! Very impressed with the maintenance that's gone into them.
Fairways: Well, it's a par 3 course mostly, so not many fairways, but the few that are there were nicely groomed.
Bunkers: It had been raining a lot, so they were still pretty saturated, so not really fair to judge these. I didn't hit into one this trip anyway. BOOM!
Facilities: Could use an upgrade. The net on the driving range has more holes than the Titanic. The pro shop/club house could use some upgrades as well.
Overall: I always enjoy playing here. It's a fun course to work on your iron game. Like I said in the beginning, I was very pleasantly surprised by the improvements of the greens. I definitely recommend playing here.
Not bad for the price
Paid $12 on golfnow to play here and I must say it wasn't too bad. Great course to work on your short game. Most of the holes are par 3's.
A good place for a quick round.
The course seems to be in the best condition in some time. It is a good place to get a quick 18 in if you decide late afternoon that you want to play.
No reservations
So West End is a great short course that I've played many times before. However they don't do reservations so by purchasing through Golf Now you're essentially locking in a lower price when you show the guy your "reservation" when showing up. I'm not actually sure you're saving much money by going through Golf Now for West End and it doesn't reserve you a time at this course, so what's the point?
Mediocre with a grumpy staff.
The course itself is a fun par 60 with challenging iron shots. Good place for first timers. The greens however are in terrible shape. You can tell the staff pays more attention to the greens closest to the pro shop. Staff is also unfriendly and rude. I had fun playing but the staff has dissuaded me from ever playing West End again.
Great Greens for a pat 60
I think this is a great course to hit your Iorns and putter on and have a lot of fun
