White Eagle Golf Club
About
Nestled within the North Woods, White Eagle Golf Club is surrounded by woodlands and wetlands that are home to an abundance of native wildlife. Carved from the hillsides surrounded the St. Croix River Valley, the scenic course is enveloped in a secluded tranquility that is the ideal setting for a relaxing round. The layout utilizes the features of the rolling terrain, creating a test that is challenging but fair. Mature trees frame the course as it winds across the landscape's natural slopes and elevations. Golfers should expect a few tricky uneven lies as well as some hard-to-read greens. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides as well as a few water hazards. Water most memorably comes into play on the finishing hole, where a waterfall provides the perfect aiming point.

Great scenery
Very nice course. Would play again. Liked the condition of the fairways and greens. Could use some water coolers.
Great view's
Great course to play, Course was in good shape with all the rain. Would play again this year.
Up north 2hrs closer. A must play.
Gps here makes a huge difference. Its the difference between a frustrating round and a very fun and strategic one. Everything is first rate unless you like a fancy clubhouse, which I could care less about. All employees were great. Very nice practice area conveniently close to 1st tee. Course is one of best in expanded mpls area. It has it all, woods water elevation change, design and shot variety. In wonderful condition. Will definitely go back. Just play smart here.
one surprising hole after an other
I was not expecting at all such a course - outstanding scenery, well maintained - even it is tough for first timr it was manageable with GPS
Nice afternoon
We played this course for the first time. It was in great shape and we enjoyed the challenge. The bartender was great.
Out of the way but worth the trip
An excellent value for your money when booked through golf now. A little expensive when paying the "rack" rate. A great course in excellent condition with a wide variety of doglegs, elevated tees, elevated greens, tight and wide open rolling fairways and water holes to test all your shot-making abilities. Power carts have GPS that included helpful tips on each hole which came in handy and took some of the guesswork out of where you're going. Each hole seems isolated and spread out and carved out of the bush, with a fair distance to drive between each hole. Would consider this a non-walkable course because of this. Beverage cart made frequent visits on a warm day. Our group put this course on the "return to play it again" list. We went away happy campers!
very nice
This course was in very good shape, and enjoyed playing it with my brothers. will look forward to playing it again.
course is in great shape
course staff was very friendly.greens are in great shape.
Great course
This was one of the best courses I've played in the Midwest area. The greens are well kept. The holes are not difficult but bunkers and trees are placed in areas that offer some challenges. Nice layout and loved the GPS. Great value for the money. The only reason it's missing a star is because the signature hole appropriately named Waterfall, had the waterfall turned off.
Great Tine
White Eagle was really interesting. Once you figured out the lines of the course it was a little easier. The staff was great and really helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Greens
There was a soapy residue on all the greens which was weird, but other than that the greens were very nice. They were very firm but a good speed.
very scenic, great playing conditions
We have had a ton of rain lately, and this course drains well. The greens were firm, but held well struck shots and rolled smooth. White Eagle is as scenic course you will find in the metro area and maintained better than most courses even with all the rain, my hats off to the grounds crew and staff at White Eagle.
Cold but fun
Great course, in excellent shape for the bad spring weather here in MN. Went from sleet on the tee box on a long par 5 to warm sunshine on the green, so odd round to say the least. Just a great all around course.
Terrific venue
For early in the season, by far the best conditions we've played. Rates in our top five in the Twin Cities!
Fantastic Golf Course
Played here many times and the story is always the same: Fantastic golf course in exceptional condition. The staff in scond to none. They're friendly, accomodating, helpful, pleasant. I've played thousands of rounds of golf all over the country. The staff @ White Eagle could easily become the go-to example for how it's done.
A parting thought (just for 2012. I'll be back in 2013.): Can we do something about #16, please? While it's certainly a tournament-changer, IMHO it's also unfair. T-shot landing area needs to be corrected and since it's definately doable and would put the finishing touch on an otherwise exceptional golf course, it needs to be done.
Fantastic Course
This is a hidden gem. It won't be long until this course is always booked! If you haven't played it, yet...make it a priority.
Difficult!
This course was one of the most difficult courses that I have ever played. But the same time, awesome conditioned course as well, one of the best I have played at. I am definately a novice when it comes to these typr of courses. I don't have the ability to choose where my ball will go, I would consider myself a hacker. The fairways are very difficult to get to, being that it is very narrow window for me. But all in all a great course, this just makes me want to learn how to not slice the ball so much.
Beautiful setting, design and condition. Add to your must play list!
I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of White Eagle. The course is challenging and well thought out but will not penalize the average golfer like some of the other newer courses. One of the most beautiful courses I have played. I highly recommend White Eagle to my friends and plan to play again soon. In my top 5 favorite courses.
Top 3 in all Mn or WI
I am a 3 handicap. I like this course first because of it's 7100 yards back tee. Not only is it long but you need to be acurrate. Greens are FAST and huge. This course challeges EVERY aspect of the game, and is very scenic. Wish I could live closer, go play it!!
