South Golf Course at Granite Falls Golf Club
About
Granite Falls Golf Club offers two courses, the North Course and the South Course. Rolling hills sprinkled with stately trees and large greens define both courses. The South Course has a challenging layout that appeals to all skill levels with four sets of tees and subtle but effective bunkering. Water comes into play on 10 holes. The golf course offers a scenic finishing hole that has two lakes, joined by a cascading waterfall with a fountain in the background. In addition to the two golf courses, Granite Falls Golf Club boasts extensive practice facilities including a short game area with a practice bunker, two putting greens, and a grass driving range with target areas.

Fun track
Really enjoy this course. Presents a reasonable challenge. A bit pricey if you are not a resident but still like to play it.
Disappointed that the restaurant was closed for repairs. That was the case a year ago as well.
Enjoyable Course
This is a fun course to play. Like to play it at lease once when we are visiting in Phoenix.
Pace of play - over 5 hours
Played here many times….however, the pace of play was terrible on 11/11/23. Over 5 hours to complete the round. The two foresome’s in front of us were the cause. A ranger final surfaced on the 16th hole and recognized the two hole gap in front of these two foresomes. He was very apologetic, but the round was nearly over at that point
SLOW!
I love playing here, played multiple times. The greens are nice since the redo, still fast and hard. Everything else was pretty rough, however overseed about to happen so no biggy. The pace of place however was horrible, a single foursome held up multiple groups for entire 9 holes, zero concern given or no awareness of groups stacked up behind them. If you’re gonna have a marshal then actually marshal. Otherwise, great course and group was awesome, I was a single with three other residents.
Great course, tough rough!
We enjoyed the course layout and it's condition in comparison to other courses in the valley. The greens were cut really short, so they were really fast. We will return as its a nice course to play.
Still good
Still lots of grasshoppers on the course. I got pelted by flying grasshoppers while driving the cart. The birds are enjoying the free meals. It was fun watching them as I waited on the group ahead of me to clear. The course is in good shape. Greens are still hard and fast. The aprons were wet on several of the approach shots to the green. If you hit the apron the ball stopped dead and made a deep ball mark.
Fairways are good. There is sand in the sand traps. This is an oddity in AZ. The island green is fun. That is probably one of my favorite holes.
Grasshoppers
Lots of grasshoppers on the course. Not a problem, just lots of flying bugs.
The course was in decent shape. Greens are hard, fast and slick. Putts would slide by the hole. Seems like the greens are packed sand with too thin of a grass base. One thing I will mention is that a group of members that I caught up to on the back 9 played incredibly slow. They spent 20 minutes searching for balls on each hole and then slowly finished the hole. I was only behind them for 4 holes, but they took longer to play these 4 holes than I did for the entire front 9 and a few holes on the back 9. C'mon guys. 3 minutes is the rule. Even if you took 5 minutes maybe, but 20 minutes at each hole? If you know you are that poor of a golfer (with absolutely no etiquette) you should bring extra balls with you. They are not a long lost heirloom that would justify the extensive and exhaustive search.
decent course, the only thing I didn't like was the greens. They were very hard and its hard to land on the green and have it stick. A lot of rolling off the back . The good thing was the bunkers , they had real sand.
Very good course, not great
Course has some great holes and a few that are average at best. No ball washers and some holes without garbage container is different.
Overseeding
I wish I knew before playing that the greens had been sanded. The greens were fast which is fine but they wouldn’t hold on most shots
Ouch the price
Almost doubled summer rate. Really? Too much. Have to take a financial break from this place.
A nice, easy, quick round
The course is extremely forgiving, there isn’t a whole lot of trouble and where there is (looking at you #15 and 18) the areas to play safe are quite generous. The course was in good condition, although I found the greens to be pretty slow but consistent and true, and pace of play was very good.
Enjoyable Course
Love playing these courses. Have a variety of tee boxes to challenge any golfer. As a single, I have found the others to be enjoyable playing partners.
