Cimarron Golf Club
About
Cimarron Golf Club combines challenging golf with excellent landscaping and scenic views of surrounding mountain ranges. Although the course has many difficult elements, with four sets of tees it can easily accommodate different skill levels and abilities. The design of the golf course features numerous strategically placed bunkers and also desert waste areas. Water hazards come into play on a few holes as well. Functional yet attractive landscaping complements the course. Cimarron Golf Club, in addition to the golf course, has many practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and short game area with a bunker.

Course condition
The course has wide fairways and is in great condition.
The greens are large and in good shape.
Cimarron
Great course, a couple of odd bounces short into the greens, but scored well. Great Hot Dog and staff
One of the better Sun City West courses
Fairway turf was very good, rough was excellent length, greens ran about 9, so in all the course was in very good shape. Driving range aimed South, one of my pet peeves because it's hard to pick up the ball flight in the sun. Cimarron has an excellent set of par 5's and 3's. Most hazards are not too difficult to avoid so your score should fit your handicap.
GREAT COURSE-CHALLENGING
FIRST TIME PLAYING HERE. EVERYTHING WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND HAD A GOOD ROUND WITH ANOTHER TWOSOME THAT WE WERE PAIRED UP WITH.
Cimmarron review
The course was in great shape. There was no one play so we played in 3:00 hours.
Cimarron
Great Layout, challenging course, Back nine has some long par 4's and a long par 3 (from the back tee's)
Fun course in great shape.
Great All Around
Cimarron has become my favorite affordable summer course in the West Valley. The layout is very appealing and the conditions are usually very good. I like all the Sun City Grand courses but this is my favorite. I am not a member. I wish the course was available to play for non-members on Golfnow during the winter season.
A beauty
Wow. Very beautiful and fun to play. I wanted to play it again as soon as I finished.
Nice course very similar to Granite Falls
I play Granite Falls several times a year and have always wanted to try Cimarron. The course was actually quite similar to Granite Falls. It was in good condition for the summer time. Very few golfers when I played so we zipped around the course quickly. Course was very forgiving of poor shots so it's very playable for lower skill levels.
You gotta play this course
The quintessential golf destination for northwest Phoenix. This course has the landscape architecture of a world class course. It's condition in August...you can't tell it's August.
Excellent Summer Conditions
Greens were in excellent shape. Fairways overall excellent shape as well. Flew threw in under 3 hours. Great track.
west side golf
this track is a good layout with fun holes. however, even for summertime in AZ, there are MANY bare spots in the fairways and very bumpy greens, there was probably maintenance done recently, but there was no indication of that at check in.
greens were great !!!! grass was also good
no cold water !! water fountain broke !! had to pay for range balls !!! staff was poor !!!! no wet towels !!!
Cimarron
I have played here many times. The course has a good layout. The grass had not grown in yet in several spots. It should be better by the end of July.
Great value
Course was closing the next day for summer maintenance so there were a lot of dry spots. Other than that it is a great course that will challenge the best.
Nice course
Play was slow but the course was in excellent condition, good experience
great track!
Played on a super windy day and cimmaron played extremely tough from the tips. Greens are fast and have lots of slope so being on the correct tier is a must. Fairways were in good shape with just a few bad areas but that's kinda expected for thistime of year as the summer grass is coming in. My only ddislike are the bunkers thin sand and lots of rocks in them. Overall for 10$ on golfnow hot deal u can't go wrong. Enjoy Cimmaron!
Great course, very hard hole locations
As an avid golfee who has played numerous great courses and also worked at courses as a pin setter. I would highly reccomend that the hole locations be given more thought. As a rule of thumb you cannot have every hole be on the top ofa hill, a mound, a slope, 6 feet from the edge of the green. You have to utilize the whole green for placement. If there are too many "zones" for placement, decrease the number of zones per green. To 4 or even 3. Gives the pinsetter more options. Not only do you lose customers from the difficult placements, but you also slow down pacw of play. You want to make the course fun yet challenging for all levels of golfers, not just scratch golfers. I am an excellent putter but even I had a hard time on the greens, having 30 putts yesterday. I would be willing to offer my services to set pins for one week and see if the customers would be happier with their rounds. The saying putt for dough doesn't apply here because there is no way to get close to some pins and make putts. Otherwise the course is absolutely beautiful and well manicured.
nice course, terrible pin placement
I read the reviews prior to playing this course, i should have taken them serious, we like the course but the guy setting the pin placements has no business working at a golf course setting the pins, we have played there twice and heard the same thing from both groups we played with, they wouldnt come back because of the pin placements and im not sure my wife and i would go back either, we golf 3-4 times a week and are both high 70s-low 80s golfers and never seen pin placements like this, you can be 10 feet from the flag in regulation and still 3-4 putt, lets hope the course allows someone a little more familiar with golf set the pins, a par 4 should be a par 4... most pins are right on the top of a ridge, on a steep slope and/or a few paces from a 8 foot drop off, Phil Mickelson couldnt make the shot
Excellent shape, great value.
One of the best layouts of all the Sun City Grand courses. From tee to green it's in awesome shape. Fairways are nice and lush, and greens are receptive, fast and rolling true. Customer service was awesome. For 21 with a drink and hotdog it's hands down a great value.
