Cimarron Golf Club
About
Cimarron Golf Club combines challenging golf with excellent landscaping and scenic views of surrounding mountain ranges. Although the course has many difficult elements, with four sets of tees it can easily accommodate different skill levels and abilities. The design of the golf course features numerous strategically placed bunkers and also desert waste areas. Water hazards come into play on a few holes as well. Functional yet attractive landscaping complements the course. Cimarron Golf Club, in addition to the golf course, has many practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and short game area with a bunker.

Fun and Challenging
I have played this course several times over the summer. I have yet to have a bad experience. (poor play on my part not withstanding....that would be my issue, not the courses. Don't confuse the two).
The course is still in great condition even after a long hot summer. The staff and rangers have always been friendly and helpful.
Some holes are more difficult than others. I think this place has a fun and challenging course. You have to learn to play the wind on some holes. There is a long par 3 which always seems to have the wind against me.
I had a great time on this last round.....and as God is my witness I shall birdy the 18th hole someday!
Pleasant
Everything about the course itself stands out as one of the nicest courses over in Grand area
I was a single jumped in with a delightful three (not related). They made me feel really comfortable, they made the day a lot of fun.
The course is challenging, in excellent condition.
The course was in excellent condition. We enjoyed the round.
Waiting waiting waiting
I know i booked a twilight tee time at 2;15, but our group waited at every tee box. Not sure there are marshals or not but it would help with pace of play
Enjoyable course. Very slow play
Teed off at 1pm. Then proceeded to wait on each hole up to 10 plus minutes. One par three there were 4 groups-3 waiting and one playing. Saw the ranger twice but he seemed disinterested. 5 hour round. You can do better Cimarron!
Greens were slow and bumpy but otherwise the course was in great mid-winter condition. Enjoyable layout. Third time playing and I will Be back assuming that the course just had a bad day.
Cimarron
First time playing here, as I’ve been living in the area for 2 years but thought that the sun city grand courses required you to be a resident of sun city. Really bummed I hadn’t check GolfNow earlier for tee times as this course is a hidden gem in sun city grand. Tough layout, fast greens and is kept in good shape from course to pro shop etc . Played a twilight tee time and got a round of 18 done in 3 hours 15 mins, as I was teed with a older couple who lived on the course. Will for sure play this course more as the summer rates start to drop in Arizona
Book it. You won’t regret it
One of the best courses in the area. They water more than just the fairways so you’re not hitting off of dry hard ground. Very nice warm up areas. No bev cart so you know what you need to do.
New Favorite!
Played a round here with my family for Christmas, definitely the new favorite!
Great conditions, challenging, friendly staff, good food and drink options.
It’s a little more on the pricier side but definitely worth it!
Christmas Golf Trip
The course checkin was good although the Golf Now registration had a glitch where it was not syncing with the course software. This added about 10 minutes to confirm checkin.
Overall the course was clean and organized. The carts are near new condition with USB charge stations.
Make sure to use the bathrooms at the clubhouse before you head out because they are limited, however it is fine with reasonable beverage management.
The greens were awesome, fast and challenging. Fairways were well maintained with typical Arizona rough surrounded by desert sand and gravel. The course plays at a medium level with a few exceptions on water holes where distance and accuracy are critical otherwise you are throwing down.
Price point seems average based on Arizona / Phoenix course fees which are increasing like everything else in Arizona.
Lots of fun with some interesting challenges to make you want to come back.
Desert play
Not a bad course, but a bit on the rich side for a hot deal. Though the couple and I were 12 min above pace, we felt like the men behind us were being pushy…with nowhere to go.
Sure this doesn’t happen all the time but it’s my personal experience.
Cash? … We Don’t Take Cash
I made the mistake of arriving with just cash to pay green fees. Only after some wrangling, did a manager offer to put the green fees on her card for my cash. It was a close call at one point, but sanity prevailed. They can handle cash at the snack bar, but not the pro shop??? Despite that initial exercise, the course proved to be a very nice place to play golf. The layout is challenging and the conditions are excellent. No issues in the fairways, greens or bunkers. One other criticism is the lack of coolers on the carts. Ice simply does not keep in plastic bags in 114 degree heat. I’ll be bringing my little Igloo the next time.
Unreal
Course was extremely nice greens so soft a short chip put a divot so did a green side bunker shot. I played very bad it’s a challenging course will be back to run it back bc it’s in amazing shape for it being 108 every day plays like it’s in prime season honestly very nice.
Great shape.
The course is in great shape after all the rain. It is a little soft so the ball will not run out, but it is very green. I'll take soft and green over hard and burnt out any day. Greens rolled fairly good. There were a few greens where someone did not lift their feet when they walked and left dragging scuff marks. If you have trouble walking and have to shuffle, I'd suggest not wearing cleats. Get the golf shoes that are cleatless. The greens will thank you and so will the golfers behind you.
Nice Course
This course is in excellent condition and pace of play (7:30 tee) was great. The course is challenging, but not demoralizing.
Nice Place to Play Golf
I had no preconceived ideas about this course. I picked it purely because it was within reasonable travel distance and I wanted to try something new. Very nice course. Course conditions were top notch--fairways were well maintained, the greens were all in excellent shape and the off areas were all landscaped and maintained(i.e., no worn out grassy areas or broken down trees and vegetation). Though set in a retirement community, the course felt very much modern and a complete departure from the usual Sun City variety of courses.
Brakes in fixing on carts. (#149)
The course is in good shape for summer time. I did not see any burned out areas. The sand traps were a bit crusty and hard. Greens were in good shape. The price is much higher than it used to be pre Covid. This used to be the best value in the area. The carts are comfortable, but they need to have the brakes checked. Mine went all the way to the floor before engaging. If you book through GN you need to watch what they charge you. All 4 of these courses at Granite Falls will charge you an extra $10 if you don't pay attention.
