Cimarron Golf Club
About
Cimarron Golf Club combines challenging golf with excellent landscaping and scenic views of surrounding mountain ranges. Although the course has many difficult elements, with four sets of tees it can easily accommodate different skill levels and abilities. The design of the golf course features numerous strategically placed bunkers and also desert waste areas. Water hazards come into play on a few holes as well. Functional yet attractive landscaping complements the course. Cimarron Golf Club, in addition to the golf course, has many practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and short game area with a bunker.

Very nice course
First time playing this course. Fairways were in good condition considering it was the middle of July, and a very dry season.. Pace of play was good. Will play again.
Nice track
Fair layout, water comes into play on a lot of holes on the front. Course is tucked back with 3 other tracks in the Sun City Grand area. Went out in the late afternoon so pace of play was no issue. Friendly staff, clubhouse guy let me go out early as a single. Course conditions were solid, greens looked like they had been punched a few weeks back but are coming in nicely. Some tough pin placements.
Worth it
It’s middle of July. 90% of the golf courses around are in tough condition. But Cimmaron, Cimmaron is in almost WINTER condition. Fairways are luscious and dark green, tee boxes are plush, sand traps actually have sand in them, greens were aerated few weeks ago but slowly recovering. Definitely a challenging course due to the constant water but if you’re a controlled swinger, you can easily avoid the drip. Beer is literally $1 a can, staff is awesome, carts are in better shape than most people’s cars. It’s $45 in the early morning. After 10am, it drops to $22. Either way, completely worth it to me. At least once.
Nice track
First time playing here. I was pleased w the conditions as well as the interesting layout. Lots of sand/water BUT they were placed where errant shots land; especially the water. That’s fair. Fairways were generally generous enough to receive ur off center drives. I will return.
Beautiful course
Lot’s of water and palm trees. Very nicely designed with manicured fairways and greens.
Wide open in the afternoon
We had a 12:52 “HotDeal” tee time. Sometimes, the staff will treat the special rate customers poorly, no the case at Cimarron. We arrived a half hour early, and the starter offered us an early start. We stopped by the snack bar for some refreshments, and we were on our way. Finding the first tee without the help of the Pro shop could have been a challenge, but we were set straight before we left. The course was in great shape. We hadn’t played in a while, so the Orange tee option pleased my wife. The greens were a little dry, but rolled better than I could hit them.
We will return soon.
Not as advertised.
Played early at 8 am with a GolfNow tee time. Was not aware it was a shot gun (this should have been disclosed) Man in pro shop was not friendly at all, seemed like he didn’t like that we were golf now guys. Didn’t say welcome, barely acknowledged us at all. Cart had no windshield, no ball washer, and no cooler. Course was ok but nothing great. Paid $95 and was not worth that at all. Could have played Verrado or Wigwam gold for $20 less and both are much better in my opinion. Will not play here again.
Beautiful course,friendly staff
Beautiful course in Sun city grand, wide fairways staff are very friendly, will definitely return.
Great
Do t play with Rod disabled vet
Aviation Cap.
He will find no redeeming value in your golf
course in very good shape for being 1 week from overseeding. was surprised to learn upon check in that our tee time from golfnow hotdeal was part of a shotgun format. no mention of that thru golfnow reservations. luckily, we made it around the course in 4 hrs. even. would have been upset if it would have been a 4 1/2 to 5 hour round which we have experienced before with shotgun formats. all good today.
Great track
Played in 3 1/2 hours. Staff in pro shop were great. Members were super friendly. Course was in great shape for this time of year. Greens were fantastic. Will definitely play here again.
Glad I gave it a try
Played this course for the first time today, and it is my new favorite of the Sun City West area courses. I played the Gold tees at about 6,000 yards, and this length gave me a good variety of shots and the chance to get on every green in regulation. Sets up for an enjoyable round for a lower handicap player like myself who just doesn't get a ton of distance on drives. The greens are big so you need to really take the depth into consideration when selecting a club for your approach shot.
All playing surfaces were in excellent condition. Really nothing I could nitpick. Not soaking wet like Corte Bella was last week with mudballs on every shot, instead Cimarron was playing fairly nice and dry for a Sun City course.
Played on a weekday afternoon, course was pretty empty, our twosome finished in less than 3 hours.
Would have been nice to have coolers on the carts, but most of the other courses in the NW valley don't have them either.
Great Day
Our threesome teed off about 10:50 and became a foursome when a single joined us for the back nine and still played in just over 3/12 hours on an excellent conditioned course (particularly when you consider the time of year). Tom in the pro shop was very pleasant as was the starter.
Nice Course...
Played Cimarron at Sun City Grand yesterday. Course was in good condition other than clumps of cut grass on the fairways and in the rough. Staff was friendly and pace of play was pretty good. Ranger was visible on the course a number of times. Could have more holes with water available considering the heat. Overall a very nice experience.
Hidden Gem!!!
Cimarron is one of four courses in the upscale Golf and retirement community of Sun City Grand and worth the price of admission. It is always in great conditIon and scenically appealing. If you get a chance to play Cimarron, or any of the four courses in Sun City Grand, you won’t be disappointed, Cimarron is a fair course but challenging enough for the big hitters low handicappers. The practice areas are separate, a chipping are, a putting area, a grass range and a bunker area. Cimarron is resort golf in a neighborhood setting. You will definitely enjoy your round.
