Cimarron Golf Club
About
Cimarron Golf Club combines challenging golf with excellent landscaping and scenic views of surrounding mountain ranges. Although the course has many difficult elements, with four sets of tees it can easily accommodate different skill levels and abilities. The design of the golf course features numerous strategically placed bunkers and also desert waste areas. Water hazards come into play on a few holes as well. Functional yet attractive landscaping complements the course. Cimarron Golf Club, in addition to the golf course, has many practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and short game area with a bunker.

Better Courses out there for the $$
Not a bad experience except the Ranger was a little pushy. We finished our round in 3:50 but were still told to pick up the pace. Was frustrating and we were hitting in to the foursome in front of us. Didnt like it that he made us feel rushed.
Will probably go somewhere else next time.
This course has wonderful !
This course has great and I like play every day if I can . I like to recommend many my friends.I really enjoyed when I played this course.!
The course was wide open and challenging had a great time.
The course was in great shape. The staff was very friendly and the greens presented a different challenge at every hole.
great day
The course was in great shape , had my best round of the year
EYES WIDE OPEN
Beautiful course with wide open, plush fairways! Course protects it self with undulating greens that are a little slow and tough pin placements! Don't be a sucker! Play to a safe spot. We will be back! NOTE: Because fairways are so wide open really focus on a target line !
good layout
Recommended play for18 is about 4 hours & we played in 3-1/2 hours and were pushed the whole front nine. Never saw the group ahead of us even off the first tee so don't know how far they started ahead of us and the group behind started before we were even on the green.
Just Grand
Don't play the Sun City Grand courses very often. Great round. Fairways wide open, rough was short, enormous bunkers, greens were fast. Liked everything about it. Very fair, although probably too short for the long hitters, and too easy for the advanced level player.
Good deal
Nice course
If you don't like my review don't ask !
Love playing Cimarron!
My second time playing this course. It is a good challenge from the back tee box. Resort like feel, yet challenging.
Nice trac...
Nice course. Small problem shop. Practice facilities more then adequate. Challenging and visually pleasing. ONLY issue I had was can you PLEASE put water stations every 3-4 holes if there is no beverage cart? It was only 100 but hydration is important!
18 holes
for those of us who don't have instruments to measure distance, Cimarron could place yardage markers more strategically including on sprinkler heads within 150 yards of green
DMPCIM
I found this course fairly demanding. There were about 4-5 shots where you're playing blind. Lots of hills. The greens are raised and you can't play for the bounce up and on, you must hit the green. There were a lot of wet spots on the course and some in front of the greens. #17 will give you a driver shot for the short hitter. I had trouble with the green on #6 and 3 putted. I haven't 3 putted in months. The one thing that bothered me the most was the lack of drinking water on the course. By 13, I was dying out there, I did have my own to help some but ran out. 4:05 for a threesome is slow.
Cimarron
Course was fun to play but perhaps that was due to the fact that I was paired up with three ladies. I was serious at the beginning but got pulled out of my game by the funny repartee". The ladies didn't hold me up and actually played pretty fast. Started @ 0600 and were done by 0950. Course is 63 hundred and some change from the white tees. Shot 38-37 and should have been in the 60's. The greens were virtually un puttable due to some fungus or moss. Looked like Chambers Bay. I liked the Par 3's challenging and with some places not to be.. Par 4's were challenging and the Par 5 were long enough and well trapped. The 18th is a great finishing hole. Will play again.
Challenging but Enjoyable
Great price, great course, and friendly staff. I would definitely come back.
Shotgun start
Was not aware of shotgun start so there was a lot of scrambling among groups when I arrived (early). Was paired with twosome that were residents and advised me where to play. Overall the course was in good condition, pace of play could of been faster.
Quick afternoon round
The greens don't look good, but they are true and fast right now. Bunkers are course and difficult to hit out of from the fairways. I played in triple digit temperatures and the pace of play was fine. This course, along with the other courses in Sun City Grand have ice machines available, so you can stock up before the round and during the turn. There is also plenty of water on the course.
Great course Grumpy staff
It was my first time at this course. We were a four some. We are in our 20's. The course was in great condition. A little wet but it's hard to get around that with the Arizona heat. We are decent players. By no means are we slow or do we hold things up. The ranger was an older gentleman that wouldn't stop hassling us. We weren't doing anything wrong. I don't know if it was our age or what but he felt the need to stock us our entire round. There was a three sum in front of us and behind us. So naturally they will play a little faster. We were keeping good pace the group behind us never really had to wait on us. Every other hole he would drive by and threaten to move us or end our round. I hope he was just having an off day because the course is too nice to have poor staff like that. When our round did end the snack bar was closed. It was 2:15 on Saturday. 106 degrees outside it would of been nice to get a cold drink. Other than the obnoxious ranger stocking us our entire round we had a good day!
Great Course
Had a great day weather was beautiful and the course was even more beautiful
Nice course in Sun City Grand
Course in good shape with above average greens. Pace was reasonable (4 hours ) especially given how busy the course was. Played with another single and a couple from Canada who were great company. Would recommend playing at least once but watch out for hidden water on several holes' second shots.
Well maintained
Very open and nicely maintained. very well manicured. Great value for the money. Staff was very freindle and informative.
