No fairways only rough
What a shame that a course with such a friendly staff and interesting hole layouts is overshadowed by such horrible playing conditions.
There were no fairways at all. Only rough. Image hitting a perfect drive right down the middle only to find the ball (if you can) settled down at the bottom of 2+ inches of grass.
Every single par 4 or 5 was terrible. Lost 2 balls that were in the fairways because you couldn't see them!
Makes for a frustrating day when hit the fairway. Get 0 yards of roll, have to search a while for your ball only to hack it out like your in the second cut of rough at any other course.
Waist of time and money.
Unacceptable
Greens: unputtable, a mixture of grass, clover, and bare dirt.
Fairways: not maintained. There is no delineation between fairway and rough.
Rough: same as fairways w a higher concentration of bare ground.
Sand: the consistency of wet cement, unplayable.
Tee boxes: there are tee markers.
Overall: the people are always friendly. Course conditions continue to deteriorate. Don’t waste your time.
Wonderful
First time playing the course and I was incredibly pleased. Very peaceful 18 with a solid pace can't wait to play again. 1 or 2 fairways and greens could be better but all around for the price awesome.
Played Front 9 Twice
The course is pleasantly tucked away in development but it is a circuitous route to get to it. The pro shop is a bit of a hike from the smallish parking lot and the signage to the pro shop is sparse. There is an expectation in these Covid times for the inside staff to mask up. The person behind the desk was NOT and there was no plexiglas shield separating us. Staff informed me the back 9 was closed for maintenance. That would have been consideration at my time of online booking. I presented my receipt to the cart person and noted that he was wiping down the carts with a chemical spray bottle.
The front 9 beginning, in summary, was a bit of a narrow dirt track. You had better be skill equipped to hit it straight. Both the fairways and greens run fast and hard due to the compacted nature of the sparse grass. Putting will perplex you as putts rarely we’re running true.
The pace was good as a single but only because there were few players on the course in the 55 degree temperature. I can’t complain about the $20.00 price but that’s all it would be worth at any time.
I played from the whites, about 6,000 yds., and have a 14 handicap.
Needs work
Grenelefe East is one of our favorite courses. However, the greens are in really bad shape.
Excellent Value
Keith in the club house is amazing! Super friendly - as is all of the staff!
Best part about this course is you never feel rushed. Not once did I look behind to see someone breathing down my neck. Tee times were spaced out perfectly and the regulars made my wife and I feel very welcomed.
Perfect course for beginners, as well as anyone who wants to relax!
Greens and Fairways need work
Some of the greens were in poor condition, spots of bare ground and weeds. Some of the fairways were in need of mowing.

Everyone is professional. Course great layout but the greens are sad☹️ Pic of #4 green
not worth playing
terrible greens fairways. bunkers are full of debris, no rakes. just a horrible place to play.
Disappointing
Could be good if they cared enough to maintain it.
