Be careful of the spectacular views

Starr Pass is a fairly tough course since there is usually desert scape between you and your intended landing area. The course is gorgeous and the views are dramatic. The fairway is plush. Greens were not super fast, actually a little slower than what I expected, but great to put on. Starr Pass is well worth the money ! I'm a 14 handicap and we played the silver tees today.

Nice course, friendly helpful staff

Beautiful desert course. Friendly helpful staff. My twosome started at 930am and was done by 1pm. Rental clubs were nice but more expensive than I'm used to paying.

Millionaires Target Golf

Headlines: Fabulous but hard course; very unforgiving; great staff; nice clubhouse. Started at 9 am and saw no-one else on the course for 4 hours - just like owning your own course!!!!.

If you think golf is "Smash the ball 300 yards roughly towards the hole and then ping a wedge onto the green from any old lie" - then you'll probably hate this course. We played the Rattler / Roadrunner combination. You need to have long straight carries off the tees (Black), an ability to hit long carries over gullies onto the greens and then be able to read some very subtle breaks. Anything wayward or short is a lost ball. Frankly the course wrecked my card, but if you are willing to use a course to teach you to hit straight and long, then this is a great course to come and improve your game. Sure you may lose a few balls but the rewards of hitting greens in regulation here are amazing. Tees and fairways were immaculate, greens running at about 9 ie not quick but very tricky breaks. The only criticism was that the greens were very soft, almost any flighted approach shot left a really large deep gouge in the putting surface that was hard to repair nicely. I think they ought to stop overnight watering for a while and allow the greens to firm up. I'd play this again in a heartbeat.

great shape

The course was in great shape the fairways were great no bald spots in them.

Greens rolled great but were just a touch soft so spike marks were showing up in them but with new rule you can fix all of them if needed

Starrpass

We play this course several times each winter. My only complaint is we never get to play the Coyote nine. If you want to play it you have to tee off to early and many times it is just to cold then.

Play it!!

A course to play in Tucson! Better have your game on. Need to hit it straight and need to know your distance. Bring a range finder since carts are not equipped with GPS. Take it in when you’re there.

Great challenging course lacking in amenities

Really enjoyed the course - excellent condition, friendly staff BUT no on-course washrooms or ball washers. Also no beverage cart even though we were assured there was.

Not for your typical golfer

This course has beauty and interesting holes. However, if you are above a 5 handicap, you need to play from forward tees because of the narrow fairways and forced carry over ravines. Because of the lack of walking the course (too much space between holes) difficulty for all but the best players and slow play (5 hours), I can't recommend it.

Challenging but fun!

Course was in excellent shape after overseeding. Pace of play was perfect. Played as a twosome with guy the marshall paired me upon arrival. Clubhouse staff was friendly and welcoming. We played Rattler/Roadrunner. Plenty of challenges to choose clubs for different shots. Not always driver which is a great way to play. Greens roll true but not super fast. Can’t wait to play again!
