Play here--you'll love it!

A month in Ireland and played a lot of golf. Some high-end (prices) courses and "local." When we got to Galway, we decided to see what was available in the area. For location, we picked Claremorris Golf Club, (Claremorris, County Mayo).
The best golf experience we had! Very hilly, heavily treed, and some very challenging holes. Layout was especially challenging for our first time.
Everyone was so friendly. We met everyone who walked in the door in the pub area. Clearly, members are very proud of their course, and should be. Especially gracious was Billy, a volunteer who was amazing.

Good

Long course. Some beautiful flora. Greens played quite slow and fairways could’ve been better kept. No great signature holes but consistently okay most of the way through. Cosy bar overlooking a few of the greens and well worth a round and a drink on a sunny day

Excellent Course.

Played as a single at 7:30AM on a Sunday: first out, so pace was not a problem. Beautiful morning. Course in fantastic condition. All greens cut that morning; they were fast and consistent. Fairways in excellent shape. Rough wasn't too punishing.
Played this course before so I knew the layout. Some challenging blind tee shots and nice par 3s. Water hazards come into play on a few holes. Pretty good layout overall.
When I was finished the cleaning area was well maintained with plenty of air pressure. Lady at the bar was very nice and friendly.
Played on a GolfNow hot deal for €15 so great value.

Challenging layout with excellent greens.

The course has a little bit of everything. Tough test first time round due to interesting elevation changes and a few blind shots. The river running through the course and the fast true greens are the highlights. Staff were friendly and helpful on the day. An underrated and highly recommended gem.
