Fantastic value, worth the detour
I’m from Canada but have played over 40 courses in Ireland. Tried Westport with reasonable expectations based on reviews. Was blown away. Nicely manicured, well kept. You can tell they put money into maintenance. Routing is terrific and builds to an amazing last 7 holes. Parkland by the sea. For the money, this is one of the best golf experiences I’ve found.

Lovely parkland course
This course has some challenging views. It can look really tough. The walk was easy. Well manicured. It is a parkland layout, quite forgiving on many holes. Save some energy for the 15-17 walk! I'm told its tough in bad weather - which comes often. It was challenging for my skill level. But the weather was perfect!!
