Great Views

Lovely course, great views. Enjoyed the 4th island green. The only small issue was no signage on the course or hole numbers on tee boxes. Well worth a visit.

Meticulously Maintained 9 Hole Track

Nice 9 hole course (not executive) that is beautifully maintained at the Glenlo Abbey Resort. Course was flat and walkable and round completed in under 2 hours(solo golfer) Toured the hotel afterwards and staff could not have been nicer. Close to Galway and a terrific way to spend a morning!

Most Beautiful Golf Course in the West of Ireland

Such a pretty well maintained golf course. Stunning views of Galway's river Corrib and the picturesque Abby.

The par 3 4th hole is out of a golfing picture book. Swans swimming by and rowing crews gliding down the river as you try to figure out the line on a sloping green.

Got course is a good test with plenty of teeing options. Greens were excellent. Bunkers were perfect. Attention to detail here socond to none. Joey in the pro shop was most helpful.

Highly recommended.

Expected more

Booked a GolfNow deal: 19e, but other than that it would have been 50e which is not value for money.
Tee boxes well maintained which generally gives me a good indication of the overall maintenance of the course. Greens in great shape for the time of year.
Really enjoyed the round.
But when I finished there was no air at the cleaning station which meant I had to put a filthy trolley into my car. There is also no showers or changing area; had to use the toilet to change which would not be great if you had just paid 50e.
Overall course in good shape, off course facilities leave a lot to be desired.

great layout, well manicured

The course is designed well. It is plenty challenging for me (13 hcp), but my wife also really enjoys playing it (36 hcp). The greens are in excellent condition...consistent and roll true. It is quite a long course off the back tees. Fairways are reasonably wide have been well maintained every time I have played there. The deep rough can be as nasty as any you'll find...best not to hit it in there! Several picturesque holes and nice views of Lough Corrib. Staff are very helpful and friendly and both restaurants (casual and formal) are excellent.

Not worth the money

Greens were in terrible condition . Lots of trouble off the tee with very high rough. If rough is that high the greens should be good to make up for it. Only 9 holes and the cost of 50 euro for a 9 hole course is outrageous! You can play Connemara Golf Club a championship course for 20 euro!
