Falcon Dunes Golf Course
About
The Falcon Dunes Golf Course is a military course situated just north of Luke Air Force Base and it is open to all military and government employees, active or retired. It is a links-style course that is highlighted by unique, native desert landscaping. The championship course provides a challenging game with several elevation changes throughout the course and abundance of natural vegetation surrounding the fairways. The large, subtly undulating greens and rolling fairways are outlined with mounded contours. Water hazards and sand bunkers also come into play on the course. Some of the holes at Falcon Dunes Golf Course also offer beautiful views of the White Tank Mountains in the distance.

Nice Track - will play it again
Enjoyable layout. Not overly difficult, but still plenty of challenge. Course was in good condition tee to green, but the greens were punched in the morning right before my tee time. My only complaint is that neither the GolfNow posting, nor the Pro Shop informed me of that before paying or heading out to the course. I guess that why I got a $10 rate, but it still would have been good to know. The overall facility is very nice.
Nice course
I've heard great things about this course over the years had no idea it was open to the public. Jumped at the chance to play it and was not disappointed loved the layout.
great day
Got to the course a little early and the starter let us go early. No one in front of us until 16th hole. Course was in great sahpe.
Excellent Value
Nice challenging layout, don't let the short yardage fool you.
A few of the fairways either had diseased or dead grass, most noticeable in front of #18.
Greens are recovering from being punched a few weeks ago, back 9 are much smoother than the front, the front being pretty bumpy.
Pretty much in average condition for summer conditions right now. Have played this course multiple times and can tell you that during the winter and spring it's aways in great shape.
Awesome that Falcon Dunes is now open to the public.
Great value
This course has various challenges with lots of undulations on the greens. Obviously played in the summer when the rates are down and the heat is up, but played in 3 hours and enjoyed it.
Enjoyable course
Interesting mix a holes. A number of short par 4 but they have contours around greens to add risk/reward value. It was a fun round of golf was able to play a variety of shots and the mounding and trees add some challenge despite the length.
This course has good layout
This course has good green condition and challenging.
Nice Conditions for the time of year
Staff were not as friendly as you would think. Overall we had a great time and we were paired up with some nice guys.
okay golf course but not very interesting
this is my first time playing here and i will say the course was in great shape...however the layout is pretty plain...only 2 holes have water come into play from the same lake and other than that most of the holes are fairly straight...so if you are looking for uniqueness and all holes being different you may be a bit disappointed.....but it was in very good shape so i had a good time....
u got2 practice
Practice facilities are fenominal! There is no shot that can not be practiced here. Chip, pitch, punch, sand, rolling hills. It's got it all. Check it out! ! You won't be disappointed.
Military Gem in the West Valley
I had played this course once before a number of years ago and forgot how challenging it was. It has a lot of holes with unique looks but doesn't hide the hazards. The greens rolled true and held reasonably struck shots pretty well. The only negative that I can give it is the attitude of the staff inside and outside. Despite that, it's a course that I'd play again.
course is great
I would play this course again. Staff was very polite.
Always a pleasure to play
I''m glad the military opens this course up to the public. Their stupid not to..it's a great course to play if you're looking for a bit of a challenge. Pro shop worker was rude, but I guess you can expect that from a semi-private facility... The members should learn to replace ball marks on greens....we still had a lot of fun on course with beautiful weather!
Great mix of holes!
Great mix of short and long holes. Rolling fairways and green that receive shots well! (Is that Bent?) Tired of courses that are flat, and always shoot into some elevated green that reacts like someone's patio? One of the top rated US Armed Forces courses! F-16s and F-35s over your head, the safest course in the world! Reveille at 5pm!
Great layout
This course was in great condition. This is the second time I have played here. The first was about ten years about. It was a great course for our groups abilities. We really enjoyed it and the staff were super friendly.
Course is in great shape
Beautiful course, excellent greens and fairways. Bunkers like all in AZ were pretty hard and compacted, we recently had a lot of rain so I can understand why.
Great facilities
What a great place to play, course is in great condition, very challenging, great value just an all american place to play.
Don't miss the chance to play this course!
Great track! Open to the public during the summer. You shouldn't miss the chance to play. One of the best here in the West Valley. During the week, the "trainers" from Luke AFB are flying overhead! Spectacular.
Average At Best People Need to be Honest
I was very dissapointed with this course peoples scales need to be readjusted this is not a 4+ course at all and is definitely overrated. Played this course on a great Saturday afternoon perfect weather overall the course is very tight together any slight stray of shots you could kill someone overall pace of play was okay nice ranger stopped by to check out how it was going. The staff was kind of rude not sure if it was because I was a "civilian" but I would note my wife does work for the VA. I wanted to play this course for a long time heard great things however overrated not a 4+ course more like a 3 peole need to adjust their scales the course was in good condition but the holes are easy and short and to tight together. It was great though with no taxes on anything.
this course in "the bomb"
First time playing this military sponsored course and it was a real value. Greens moderately fast but true, fairways lush and green and actual sand in the bunkers. Opened to the public for the month of September but hope the idea stays around for awhile. Despite driving from East Mesa, an hour plus drive for us, my group hopes to replay this course again in the near future.
User ratings are completely subjective. I didn't find the course to be a shooting gallery at all. However the attitude of the staff (Including outside staff) was sub par.
