Falcon Dunes Golf Course
About
The Falcon Dunes Golf Course is a military course situated just north of Luke Air Force Base and it is open to all military and government employees, active or retired. It is a links-style course that is highlighted by unique, native desert landscaping. The championship course provides a challenging game with several elevation changes throughout the course and abundance of natural vegetation surrounding the fairways. The large, subtly undulating greens and rolling fairways are outlined with mounded contours. Water hazards and sand bunkers also come into play on the course. Some of the holes at Falcon Dunes Golf Course also offer beautiful views of the White Tank Mountains in the distance.

Stay in the fairways
Very thick and high rough to get out off. The golf course was in very good condition and practice green is a little faster than the actually greens.
Lots of tree, thick rough, hit em straight.
This is a military course (officers have special parking spots) just north of Luke AFB. Using a small piece of ground (1/2 mile square) Gary Panks laid out a very interesting course with some water, dog legs, rough and lots of trees. Consecutive holes switch direction frequently, which I like because you are never hitting into the sun for a long stretch. The greens were a little slow (8 1/2 maybe) and the grass clippings were not all captured by the mowers, but all in all a very worth while round. Rolling fairways can provide some difficult lays.
Wish this course was public all the time
Very nice layout. Greens were pretty slow but smooth and predictable, took a while to get used to the speed. Fairways were rolling, so placement from tee was pretty important. Rough was very dense, hard to go for green in two if that's where your tee shot landed.
Great place to play
Course is deceptively pleasant - open, hilly, but rough was punishing. Need to stay in fairways, and course is fair.
Beautiful Course
The course was in terrific condition despite the heavy flooding one week earlier. The fairways were a bit narrow and the rough was deep. Accuracy off the tee is a must. Despite a higher than normal score I loved the course.
Very rewarding and challenging
The first time playing the course. A good challenge, we
had 2 seniors and 2 players in their early 20's. Good
elevation changes or mounding on all holes. The greens, fairways, and tees are in good shape. The rough is tough but fairways are ample. All the holes
are different looking. We played in 3 3/4 hrs.
The staff was very friendly. Next time we will probably
play a combo tee.
challenges await!
I found the, course to be in excellent condition despite the recent rains. The greens were difficult to read and the rough was...well, rough! Definitely a challenge for someone looking to work on their game. Lots of diverse conditions, nice mountain views. If you feel you played well here, you should be ready for anything. Friendly staff, Marshall was very helpful.
Grasses too long.
We wanted to love this course having played it several years ago. Maybe because of the late summer, the fairways were mown narrow--fairway grass was too long. While fairways looked wide, the actual mown areas were narrow leaving many balls in the thick rough. Greens were also a little shaggy and slower than we like. We might try it later in the season after over seeding and see if the grounds are in better form.
great design
extremely well designed. great can challenge all skill levels. must think not just power your way through it.want to play over and over again...Really a great military golf course
perfect conditions
Falcon dunes just became available to the general public and if you get the chance to play there you won't be disappointed. Conditions were perfect except for the heat, but they can't control that. What they can control they do very well, from the perfperfectly level tee boxes to green this track is great. Not overly long from the tips but don't let that fool you into thinking it's a easy course, the way the fairways are defined by the rough which is thick and lush keeping your ball in the fair way is the key to scoring well. Greens roll true but could be faster. Lots of shade and plenty of water stations. Have fun at Falcon Dunes it's worth the drive west!!!
One major solute!
I can't say enough about Falcon Dunes. It was a huge surprise to see this on golf now. I played it ten years ago with a retired friend enjoyed this course very much and have been waiting to play ever since. Enjoy it while you can. And don't forget to salute and honour our protectors of this wonderful country we live in.

Play this course
I have had the opportunity to play in three scramble tournaments at this course. Every time the course is absolutely pristine. Some courses struggle to keep their grass green and course maintained during the summer in Phoenix due to the drop in players and revenue, this is not one of those courses.
The course is extremely challenging, from the changes in elevation on the fairways to very difficult greens to read.
I will never pass an opportunity to play the course if I can be sponsored by a member of the military.
